So I just got done putting LED interior lights in my xf. Whenever I hit either one of the window switches and let off, the dome lights will flash real quick. Im not sure why its doing this, unless something is on a common circuit and the voltage spike is just enough to cause them to flicker.

Any ideas?

 

Me too - once id fitted blue leds in there mine does same - Ive replaced the standard bulbs and issues goes away! I can live with it, but it is strange

 

Mine does the same thing! I have a feeling it has something to do with the energy sensitivity of the LED, as they use so little watts, they are possibly extremely sensitive to the very slightest of light voltage being run though the electrical system. I also noticed the LED's never fully turn off, when i turn the car keys to off, there is always a very low amount of electric flowing though and keeping the LED's very dimly lit.

 

I am curious why you guys go with LEDs in the dome light? I put LEDs down under the dash because the ease of installation. And to match the light color, I put blue colored (whtie) 194 bulbs in my dome light sockets and they match very close. I understand LEDs use less power, but why are they needed in a dome light?

what exactly would you recomend, i was unaware of a non led that has the same color temperature as other LEDs (the pure white, which is slightly blue)

 

Mine flickers as well. Good to know I'm not alone.

One thing that I love about our interiors... (there isnt much sadly)... is that It can SHINE... But you need a bit of light to do it... Place 2 blue, or w/e color LEDs in your Dome light... and when you open the door, it looks like you rolled off the showroom... Probably the most commented on mod i've made and I have subwoofers, HIDs, CAI, etc.. boring 194 bulbs dont cut it.

 

They do make some Albert, but they run at about the same price and dont have the light intensity of an LED... They also make colored 194 bulbs.. but they are simply color filters and the light intensity is TERRIBLE.

 

Most of us who who full bulb conversions do not want that yellow/milky light anywhere near our cars. I do not want any incandescent lighting in my car, if I can help it.

Notice the ultra lux brands are doing exactly the same thing?

Yeah, my blue led's are flickering when letting go of the power window switch.

I suppose it could come from the window regulator motor. The moment the circuit comes open and feedbacks with the domelight circuit. That shows you how little power is required to light the led's. Perhaps a capacitor in the dome circuit could fix that. However, I know this condition will not cause any problems

 

same here but the gains are awesome heres my SSB limited..... LED INTERIOR DOMES....LED FOG LIGHTS..AND LED PARKING LIGHTS(the lil lights on the top corners of the headlights)
