This is a really common problem and it can lead to the blower motor catching fire. As of yet Chrysler offers no repair though this problem is a manufacturing defect. I suggest everyone with this issue file a complant https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/ivoq/ Hopefully we can get a recall and get Chrysler to fix this problem before someone's Xfire catches fire and burns up.

Yes as said earlier, drain holes get blocked with leaves and dirt etc, water has no other way to go than through access into fan/fan motor, out of ducts onto floor. It really is crap design and needs an eye kept on it. You have to remove wiper arms, raise plastic cover at bottom of screen, clean out debris and flush drain holes with hose. Worth doing each year if car lives outside. You will see where water has got in. Good Luck!
