Seat Relay
Re: Seat Relay
do u still have these SM4007? Where are u located? My son's car is a 05 Chrysler Crossfire and seats don't work but once in a blue moon...Do u still work on them?
Re: Seat Relay
If they work OK now and then I would say you have dry solder joints, remelt the solder with some resin core solder.

Re: Seat Relay
My power seats began to act up a month ago. Usual stuff: both seats stop working intermittently, regardless of the door being open etc.
Before taking everything apart, I ordered a few diodes from Digikey as recommended by onehundred80, although in my case I was pretty sure the relay and the diodes were working.
The reason for that, and that's something anyone can troubleshoot, is with the key out of the ignition, playing with the AJAR switch, I could hear the relay click perfectly.
Anyways, I took the relay out, inspected the board it is mounted on, and there, a nice cold solder joint! Of course, it was on the output pin, the one that goes back to the motors when the relay is closed.
Heat and solder it, all done.
Here is a pic of the cold solder joint for the fun of it (pointed out by the tweezer):
And a picture of the relay part number. People are still asking which one it is although many people have written it down many times:
Here's to another issue fixed by myself thanks to this wonderful forum. Thank you onehundred80!

Re: Seat Relay
Definitely, especially since the wife and I share the same car and we are not the same size at all. Neither of us could drive the car with the car set to the other's position :-D
I wish I was less lazy and made a system with memory for both positions.

Re: Seat Relay
And to think I was about to spend all that money in electronic parts when all I have to do is buy a second Xfire! Thanks, you just saved me 300 bucks ;-)

Re: Seat Relay
Look at the sticky key fix, it shows the screws that have to be removed to fix the key problem, the same screws are removed to get at the seat relay.
