I would think it best to paint in actual body color as to match the finish as well as possible. The only thing to consider, depending on how the seat is adjusted there is much more a potential for paint damage against the rear bulkhead cover, I know most people have their seats almost touching this now, so not much room....
Very much true about touching the wall. This will not be any trouble regarding space as the material is about 6 mm thick. The issue of scratching the paint / clearcoat is no problem as I believe the seats are in the same position for most of the time. When chaging the seat position you just have to be careful.

I had them primed white to see how it would look and it was a killer in my white srt6 coupe. I have no tint and you could see the from all angles. the SRT6 decal also looked great. To me if I tweak the design and make a final product I guess the will be well fit.

Well then keep at it, I like the look, especially for the white...

Painting the back of my seats graphite when they are already grey will not really pop out at you like yours would.

You could always make them carbon if you have carbon instrument panel.
Red like the calipers, or color of the instrument cluster light (if changed), same color as the hood viper looking stripes, alloys, well almost anything to add the customisation.

This is where we may differ then, to me it is not about 'adding to the customization' it is about doing something the factory should have done, or something they did, just better. I feel like it should belong, and for these to be anything other than body color IMO would look like an aftermarket 'stick-on' and that is what I am avoiding at all cost...
