Hi there,

1. The power window motors are fixed with 3 pop rivets. Check if they are tight. If not, the doors tends to rattle. Especially if the windows are down. Also check the pop rivets of the airbags.
2. Check if the screws of the door check arm are loosened. If they are loose it sounds like something cracks if you close the door.
3. Check if the door interior is complete. Over here in germany some cars got new doors because of rust problems. Sometimes the doors were not properly assembled by the mechanics. Often the rinsible fabric is loosen, or there's no. So you'll get wind noise.
4. If the doors cards make a rusting sound, you can damopen then. For example with isobutyl mats...

Regards
Markus

It's amazing the number of owners who have experience slamming doors on expensive cars at car shows, so much so that they realize the Crossfire is not built to the exacting standards of high end cars.

When I was in England I was told by an instrument technician friend of mine that he was at Lagonda if I recall correctly, watching an assembly technician, I'm sure he was not called an assembly line worker, who was testing an ash tray by pulling it out and pushing it in time after time. My friend said what's up and the guy replied that it did not feel as it should. After being told to try it my pal said it felt like it was on silk bearings. That part is OK the guy said but it does not make the correct kind of snap into the open and shut positions.
I guess the car may fail to start when it rained due to bad electrics but one could always rely on the ash tray to work smoothly and snap correctly into the open and shut position while you waited for a tow.

Here is a glimpse of the robots and workers who assembled the car.

this thread is very curious because even with the windows down my Xfire doors sounded like a Mercedes or other high end car.

when i push on the inside door handle area where the tweeter is, the door creaks, even when closed. When i drive, i rest my left leg on the door and it creaks... is there some foam or something that can be bought that will fill the negative space in the door without hindering the windows ability to move up and down?

If you have not figured it out by now your window is loose there are two nuts needing tightening

I had this same issue... I took it to the dealer and they replaced the window braces inside the door because some were loose. Fixed the problem and haven't had an issue in 2 1/2 years.

My driver's side door has always been pretty darn solid, even with the window down, but my passenger's door was always horrible, especially with the window down.

I found out why when I finally took the door apart to upgrade the speakers - my passenger's door was missing the sound insulation and a nut from the window linkage had backed off substantially.

I tightened and fixed the linkage (and adjusted the window) using onehundred80's great guide (search and you'll find it pretty fast).

Then I stuck some Dynamat to the plastic backing (which was mysteriously still there sans insulation) and put the door back together.

All is well now and it sounds firm and solid.

Taking the door apart was fiddly and annoying (lots of clips and iffy prying, especially on the silver/chrome handle covers) but quick. Took me under <30min per door, and that was including speaker disassembly and reassembly. If your doors make noise, might as well open them up and see what you find.
