Wife and I took XF on a 600 mile trip this weekend and we both noticed how comfortable the driver side seat is and how uncomfotable the passenger side is. Less padding and less adjustment.

Has anyone ever converted a driver side seat to the passenger side?

I have found some local used ones, and could swap covers/parts...

Did you buy this car used? If so, I would say the better half of the previous owner was "large".

 

If its a power seat all the switches will have to be switched over to the other side, or just the cover and foam swapped over. Why not try adding padding to the cushion on the seat you have.

Just buy another passenger seat (one that isn't worn out from a heavy weight), or have your's re-padded at an upholstery shop. These options are most likely the paths of least resistance.
