Default Interior door bars

I don't know where to post this, but I've noticed the 2004 Crossfires interior door pull bars can cut your finger. The back of that silver bar is rough. I bought 2 seatbelt cushions that are cylindrical, anyway, and placed them around the door pulls. Attractive, comfortable, and safe!

That is what I did before my door pulls start to wear and become jagged. It seems that many Crossfire owners has had that issue.

I think this would be the perfect place for some carbon fiber wrap, good looking and takes care of the rough surface .

You think it's great and many do not agree and think carbon wrap is over done and looks like crap. You think it looks good and I think it does not. If it's real carbon fiber OK, wrap is ***** to my mind. Each to their own I guess. It is nothing but glorified MacTac.

I have to agree with you,I have never used the product and was only speculating
That there was a high end product that could be used. You see a fair amount of carbon fiber at car show's these days so I thought quality rap would be readily
Available.

I used the soft half of Velcro tape on the inside of the door pull. I like it. I was cut a number of times.

It worked for me, my '04 was perfect and the '05 not so much. The passenger side got quite sharp, a rub with the fine foam sanding block did it, for now anyway.
The earliest post on sanding I could find.

I tried to sand it...but it seemed to make it sharper! But, if it works for all others, great

I learned about the Velcro thing on XF.org, I think...
It does feel fuzzy, warm...mmm.

No really, I also thought about wrapping it with leather. But this seem to work great for me.

The cuts were really bad! I play guitar, so I watch my fingers.

I was thinking about trying some silver Neffy wrap around the handles. It's a little thicker than the normal wraps and should match up nicely, plus it has some cush to it!

For some reason I have never had this problem, but if I did sanding would be the way I went too. The other cool idea was the leather wrap, I know I saw pic's somewhere of it done. It looked amazing.

Leather looks ok if it matches the interior, but unless you make them velcro, you could no longer remove the door panel with them installed

I think Musclefan21 had leather-wrapped door handles... but, his were also made of wood because the PO had broken the plastic ones

I used 3/4" 3M clear tape down the entire seam 5 years ago and have never been cut, plus the tape can not be see.
