My car came with those leather wraps that laced up on the back face. I did not like them and took them off. Someone on the forum was making them at one time.

I sanded the back of the pull to make it smooth, I had to do it twice though, maybe I'll have to do it again.

That's what I ultimately did with mine. After sanding the flash down, I used some heavy-duty 3M ultra-clear packing tape. I applied it with the same method one uses to apply vinyl (lubricant spray) and worked all the bubbles out. No one has ever noticed.

I had the same problem with the drivers side on my 05 , so I cut a 1" strip of aluminum duct tape and ran it down the entire seam. Works great and cannot be seen.
