Default auto dimming mirror

Does the 2004 auto dimming mirror hook right up to 2005 and up - or does it require mod's?

It requires wiring into the HomeLink module wires for the 12v and ground. ( there is no receptacle for the integrated cable plug )
It also has a reverse sense wire that disables the dimming when in reverse, but I have never known anyone to go to the trouble of hooking that up.

Had mine in for 2 years now, love it, love it, love it.

What would be a good test to see if it works?

I really don't see it "working"
Maybe that's the beauty of it... It probably does work!

With the ignition on in daylight, cover the little hole on the front of the mirror with your finger, then shine a flashlight on the hole on the mirror side,
I can see mine drastically dim .......

Thanks!
I'll try this next time the cover is off.

In all honesty, this is one standard feature that came on my 04 that I wouldn't miss.
I have no problem manually dimming the mirror in any of my other cars.
My complaint with the Crossfire's automatic mirror is that it makes it next to impossible to identify the car behind me.
I've noticed the roof top light bar (on the Police car behind me) is practically invisible after dark.
Now I'm not paranoid, (because I never do anything illegal when I'm driving our Crossfire) but I don't like surprises when Leo's are involved.
Another thing I've noticed, I'm the only one who ever complains about this.
