Default Long bar on the inside of door panel broke

Hey guys!

The long silver bar(not sure what the correct term is) on my door panel broke off. Where can I get a replacement part and how do I put it in place? It seems the piece that is left behind is held in by a star like screw. Never seen one like that.

Thanks for any advice!

I don't know what part you are talking about but here's a link to the manual(s): https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum/tsbs-how-articles/13875-crossfire-documentation-collection.html

Sorry about the bad link. Problems with the door pull is some what common with the XFire. The door pull comes apart at the seam. Once the front piece is removed there will be (2) screws that need to be removed The door panel needs to come off in order to get to the plastic tabs holding the pull to the panel after the two screws are removed. There is a very good STICKY in the INTERIOR section with pics describing the process. Also try a search on DOOR HANDLE REPLACEMET. A lot of info here also.

To find a replacement, I suggest you contact those that are parting out their cars such as: https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum/private-parts-accessories-sale/55535-04-crossfire-parts-sale.html

Unfortunately the guy didn't have the part I needed

Also, when I went to the Sticky for the door panel it seems they are talking about the small panel holding the actual door handle in. Not sure if I went to the wrong one..

From my research this part, the part that is attached to the door panel, comes as a part of the door panel assembly. Only the parts (left and right handed) that snap off the front of it are available as spares.

There is a thread where somebody got a car with a part of a broom stick used in place of this part. One of the Tennessee guys I think it was.

Mine broke off at the seam. I'm pretty sure there is a way to remove the assembly that is left over, since it is only held in by one screw. Big question is, where do I get the part?
I got an offer from a parts guy on ebay, trying to sell me the assembly plus the actual door handle for $300. Seems a bit steep to me to be honest, for a few plastic parts with a chrome cover on them!

Have You thought about just manufacturing one? For $300 I could make a frickin masterpiece. The oak for the Job can't be more than $40.00 and the Stain and hardware to hang it another $15.

I think I might do this, it would make a nice simple project for this Summer.

If you went to stainless steel then you could use a shower handrail. That would practically be a match for the OEM finish.

What color interior do you have, and which door is it? Driver or passenger? I may have an extra door panel I want to get rid of

I went to my body shop and he looked it up in a parts book. Drivers side was a hundred and passenger side was 40 something. I didn't see much difference in the two sides. I have to replace mine also maybe yours is fixed by now .
