Default The ultimate armrest / cupholder solution??

Several attendees at the Tail of the Dragon were asking me about the custom armrest / cup holder that I have installed on my Crossfire. This is the basic part that I used.

Ford Explorer Sport Trac Console Lid Arm Rest Cup Holder New Part | eBay

The short story is that we (my son and I) then fabricated a flat cover piece to fit the bottom of that armrest part, we removed the silver trim piece from the existing Crossfire center console glove box lid (I actually bought a used glovebox lid to work with saving my original part in whole), shimmed the new armrest unit appropriately for the right overall height and mounted it to the existing Crossfire glove box cover.

Hmm, I wonder how that would work with a 6-speed as well. To the salvage yard!
