Default Rear view mirror

OK, stupid question. Tried to remove the mirror and looking at the hole looks like it should have a allen wrench to loosen the mirror from the button. After I gave up on the allen, I thought maybe a small flat head. No on that too. I finally just pulled and twisted and got the radar/laser wire tucked in but would still like to know how the mirror comes off?
