Just a note to anyone with a dropped headliner looking to repair inexpensively. I ended up painting my headliner using color tinted countertop paint from lowes. It took care of the problem and it looks great! Using led bulbs and a lighter color I now have a bright interior with the dome light on. The headliner is insulated above and no squeaking or rattling in the cold weather. Just an FYI

I also had a local upholstery shop recover my headliner. I told him to match the color & fabric as best he could. Finished headliner was great looking when I picked it up. Upholsterer made sure he cut the new fabric large enough to wrap it around the headliner board edges to ensure good adhesion & life.

I'm okay with removing the headliner from the car when repair is needed & re-installing it when repair is finished. But the actual repair of the headliner I left to a local expert. Cost me $132.50 - Worth every penny!

Best to go to a few dealerships and see who THEY go for this type of work. Mine was a little over $65 I carried in, they wrapped around about an inch, and color matched. Dealers use these guys so they can mark up larger profits. When you get a good quote, and they are reliable, jump on it like I did. I posted my results somewhere...Just saying!

I'm in complete agreement with you. The shop (Bucket Stitch) I used in Greenville does this work for higher-end car dealers along with most custom rod builders in the area. High quality work but at a price. I've used this shop for years.
