Default Cabin filter. Carbon or non carbon

I want to replace the cabin air filter. I see there are carbon filters and non-carbon filters. Is one particularly better than the other? Do the carbon filters help with the waxy "Crayon" smell?

I have used both types and now that I think about it I don’t remember noticing a difference. It is believed that the crayon smell is the headliner glue. The smell in my coupe went away after the headliner fabric was replaced. Others but not everyone has noted the same.

I have a roadster so no headliner. I’ve read that most German made cars have this odor to different degrees. I’ve read that VW Jette cars are real bad for this.

Someone on here once said that if you want to get rid of the crayon smell in your car you should date older girls.
He was joking naturally.
Others have said the smell comes from the carpet. Europe is way ahead of North America when it comes to using more eco friendly materials and glue containing petroleum chemical substances are not used unless really really necessary.
I would get the charcoal filter just because ......
