Default Bright LED lights at night...

Are you bothered by the lights in your side-view mirror while driving in the dark. Or worse, when those people in their tall trucks seem to want to hang just past your rear bumper with their super bright LEDs directly in your mirror. Well I am, and I recently started a new job where I leave my house before sunup in the morning. So I said to myself "self, what can we do about this", can't make them get past you any quicker, can't outlaw those super bright lights, don't like my windows being tinted (because then you can't see the other things while driving in the dark). Then it dawned on me, in those old movies about submarines....red lights at night allow your eyes to more quickly readjust to the dark. So I came up with this simple solution for those pesky headlights and still be able to see the rest of my side view without trying to peer through tint...and you just pop it loose for normal daytime driving. Now, those lights (even LED's) appear no brighter than a normal set of tail-lights do.
Night Vision Shield....very simple to make if you are the least bit handy with tools. A piece of 1/8th inch Ruby Red acrylic sheet and a suction cup hangar with the steel hook removed.
Hope this can help someone as much as it has made my morning commute better.

I see the concept. Is that on the inside of the side window?

Yes, you are correct...this allows the concave curve of the glass to provide tension on the piece when the suction cup is applied, which helps to keep it from rattling while driving.
