Drivers Side Window Issue
I am a new owner. Picked up a 2004 Crossfire coupe, 67K miles, no rust car. Have the car in my back shop and I began going through it since it's winter here in Minnesota...well sorta winter. Supposed to be 47 degrees here tomorrow. So far I have gone through most of the mechanicals and stuff you all on this forum have said to check/take care of and so far nothing unusual. I do have a Driver side window issue. The window will go up and down but does stick, sounds like grinding/clicking/popping, and will stop from time to time. It really gets stuck a the bottom and have to help it and click it up in pulses to get it to go back up. Motor runs fine. Before I tear into it just need some ideas on what I should be looking for and what to watch out for. I have restored cars all my life and currently have a completed 57 BMW Isetta and a Customized 95 Dodge Viper project that I am working on so I have plenty of experience dealing with this crazy stuff.
I ended up replacing the window mechanism with one from Ebay. Glad I took pictures before I pulled it all apart. Hardest part was dealing with removing the window and reinstalling it.
Hi Racerherbie,
Thanks for getting back to the forum with the solution. Just curious, was the issue wear on some of the window mechanism components, or a broken plastic piece?
