"Bigkid" (Jim) is in Chi-town - GTG on Sunday 9/11
Hey Chi-town locals..........
As I said ...Bigkid (Jim) is in town (Aurora) for work and has some free time this weekend to meet up with us.
He's a great guy and I'm gonna meet up with him Sunday afternoon here in Aurora.
He drove his Crossfire all the way up from South Carolina to be here !!
EDIT:
Sunday:
Mostly sunny skies. High 79F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph.
Looks like were gonna head downtown and show Jim the Chicago Skyline
Anyone want to join us ??
Leaving from Aurora sometime in the morning.

This sounds great, I miss the monthly meets. I an on going to the British car Fest, I had a triumph before my Crossfire and want to see my old club.
I want to show the new GF and her kids some different cars.
If anyone likes british cars here is the place to go.

Sorry Gary next time. Let's try to have a meet before the snow flies.

Gary, Thanks for calling me today to let me know about this. I'm certainly interested but it depends on the weather. I think they are predicting rain for Sunday. I'll check this thread on Sunday to see what plans have been made... Thanks again...

I plan to hook up with Jim later today here at my place.
Sunday we might do a run into downtown Chicago.
Jim has never been in Chicago and has only seen it from the plane.
Check back here for Sunday plans as they unfold.
Gary

Damn, Jim...you had better not come thru Indy and not stopped to say hello...lol....J/K... If the weather is good Sunday, I might head up that way...I have a lot to do, but, a day out isn't bad either, especially to meet up with an old friend. One problem is, though, I have to park in the grass where ever we go...no more parking lots for me....

If you would come to the spring and fall Dragon you'd see him twice a year.

Jim and I took my Crossfire downtown today.
We drove all around the downtown loop and all along Lake Shore dr. from the north to south side taking in all the sights of the city.
We went by Millennium Park, Solder Field, Adler Planetarium, Museum of Science and Industry, Navy Pier, Chicago Yacht Club, Water Tower Place, Shed Aquarium, Field Museum, North Ave beach, Sears Tower and finally stopped and parked by the John Hancock building and went up to the 94 floor observatory.
Today being the 10th anniversary of 9/11 seemed to keep people away from the towers and skydecks.
There was absolutely no waiting to go to the top and very few people up there today....very unusual for a beautiful clear day on the weekend in Chicago.
Anyway we had a great time and Jim had never been in Chicago before.
My only regret is I didn't have my camera with me.
I know, I Know how could Valk forget his camera ???....well it happens.
I'll always remember where I was when the attack on 9/11 happened and now I will probably always remember the nice day we both had on the 10th anniversary of 9/11 in the beautiful city of Chicago.

Should have come up amd joined us today the weather was great and Gary was the ultimate tour guide. Thanks again Gary.
But you may have enjoyed the Saturday night ride better. Gary got some SRT seat time and we were ripping up the counyry side. He seamed to enjoy a little extra power and was wearing a big grin.
Really looking forward to seeing you at the Dragon, It's been too long my friend.
With you, Hcarter, John Book and others talking about taking it easy this Dragon I told Gary we are going to have to start a sub group of The a$$es on fire group. The new group would be Old farts A$$es no longer on fire but still smoldering. LOL Time marches on.I am betting you guys won't be able to hold back when the fun starts and the fire will blaze again.
I don't know Jim...that big dent may just slow me down a bit....no need to break anything else as I need to finish the mods I started...lol It will be fun just to hang out, and enjoy the weekend....but a little tire ripping might be necessary.....
