Newport Ri Cruise
With top up and the top boot folded Roadsters have decent trunk space. I love the black & cream interior too!
Put me down for 1 and probably a guest. I will need tokens. What is the best route coming off the Pell Bridge to the Newport Grand lot?
We have 19 members so far. I have numbers from all but two.

B-Dawg, you old buzzard, where did you find someone to travel with you?
How many tokens do you want? At least 2 probably. When you get off the bridge stay left follow the curve and and stay in the center, go straight ahead to the lot. 10:00 am or we can meet for breakfast, Ill be at D&J's at abot 8:30 or so. Pass on the numbers when you are able. Thanks buddy. What did the guy say about my car?

Will you try a SB in your Crossfire on the Newport Cruise Day?
If you like it, will you purchase it?
Do you already have a SB installed?
Are you going to have the ECU Tune done on the cruise?
Have you already had the ECU Tune done to your Crossfire?
I have had no contact with the people from TVT Design. I've never met any of them or done business with their company. I figure it would be nice to give them a rough idea of what may be facing them when they come to the Newport Cruise.
Bob

XFirenorth I may be getting a SB before Newport but if I don't, I'll certainly buy one from TVT if give the opportunity.
As for the ECU Tune, I would also do the ECU tune, but I am trying to see if the Tune voids the warrenty. Does anyone know? I have been checking but haven't found anything a definative answer.

Pete, it does not void your warranty, only if they learn about it and they say something, otherwise they should have no idea. Mine has been there for a while and I swear it gets better and better. I can't believe how fast my car is. Not tooting my horn but this sucker is QUICK.
Some other great news to pass along, we don't need any special passes or permits for any of the sites at Colt State Park, I just spoke with them and we are Golden, we can take as much space as we need. Yahhhhhhh!

Any updates on the Newport Cruise? How about posting a mini billboard with date and time, meeting location, plus scheduled routes and events? We may pick up a couple of new XFire owners over the next couple of weeks. It is that time of year.

NEX Presents Newport Rhode Island Cruise
Saturday April 26th
Please check this thread to find more info.
So far, we have approxamately 20 cars participating in this run.
If you want to join us send a PM to me or blackxfire, or nightrider.
We will get you hooked up and tell you where we will meet.
There are two groups, at this time, folks from the north and east and those from the south and west.
Each group has a meeting point, the former is headed up by DAMSRT-6
the latter is headed up by me and will meet either at the park and lock on rt 1-A off of 138, before the Jamestown Bridge in Narragansett or Saunderstown. Used to be Heffies if anyone can recall that. 9:30 is the time of the meet there
If you want to meet for breakfast, there is a little place called D&J's on 1A
about a mile north of the park and lock.
after breakfast we will all go to the park and lock and head to Newport, I will have Bridge tokens for $1.00 each ((it's $2.00 Toll at the bridge) each way.
We will all (both groups) meet at the Newport Grand Parking lot by 10:am
Once we have all chatted, Given the itinerary and a map, we will leave the Grand Lot and head over to Belcourt Castle where will take pictures. There is no time limit and we can stay there as long as need be.
Once all is done there, we will cruise to Ocean Drive, there again to take pictures of all the cars together.
Once done there, we will head on north to the windmill in Portsmouth, take more photos and continue to Bristol, RI and Colt State Park for fresh cooked hot dogs and hamburgers, we can all chip in to xfire north who said he'll get the burgers and dogs, I hope he gets the buns. Mustard, relish and condiments. There is supposed to be people there that will "tune your ECM" for a fee.
Once again, look at the beginning of the thread to see how much and who will be doing the re-programing.
There will be no fee for the Park and we can have as much room as we want.
As you can plainly see, this is way too much information to be put on a poster.
I'm quite certain that y'all can gather the information needed for your needs.
Any questions can be directed at me via PM or on this thread, if you feel that it's a benefit to everyone.
Finally, I wish this to be a fun and safe trip for everyone.
Come, have fun, meet other members and learn new things about our cars.
Show off your ride and make new friends, people that you've only read about. Lot's of photos and great people.

I hate to bring this up again, but have you given any thought to Sunday the 27th as a Rain Date?
Peace

Well stated Rick! We needed to refresh our memories of what will be happening, and your posting affords us that opportunity.
We may need to divide up the supplies among a few participants. Trunk space is limited. My camera case and jackets will be in the trunk, and if the weather is "decent", the roof will be down. The cooler I have that will fit in the trunk will probably hold a couple of boxes of Hot Dogs (about 45 Hot Dogs in a box) including ice. I can probably fit the needed amount of rolls needed for the hot dogs too. Unfortunately, I cannot fit everything else like burgers, burger buns, plates, napkins, fork/knives, salads (if applicable), and condiments. This is why we needed to get this thread going again. The cruise is two weeks from tomorrow so it may be time to to firm up some assignments. As far as the food goes, we need a count on how many people will be eating. I know we have 20 cars signed up. That means we would have a minimum of 20 people but no more than 40 people. Do we have anyone else other than Crossfire people attending? What about the TVT people? As soon as we get a head count, then we can determine the amount of food.
I will volunteer to pick up the Hot Dogs and rolls. There are usually 40-45 tube steaks to a box (Kayem Old-Time Franks). If it is determined that we need two boxes (approx. 90 dogs), I will get two boxes and a similar amount of rolls. I can keep that amount cold in the cooler and also fit the buns in the trunk with crushing them.
BJ's has great burgers (fresh) which usually come in a 5 pound package which is about twenty burgers or so. Someone could purchase frozen burgers (easy) which could partially thaw during the cruise, and then cook up just fine on a hot grill. Then you must consider cheese for the burgers, rolls, and condiments.
Paper products (plates & napkins) need to be considered as well as things like potato salad, macaroni salad. Homemade or store-bought? Utensils will be needed to eat those type of things.
Then what about cold drinks? Do they allow alcoholic beverages at Colt State Park? That would probably be something participants will bring on their own.
There's still a lot of planning to do to make the cookout portion of this adventure come together. The sooner we figure that out, the better.

Potato chips, soda, as no beer or anything is allowed. We will need some salad and/or cole-slaw, salt and pepper, cheese, if we count on at least 35 people doing 2 dogs and 2 burgers along with other stuff, we can be assured that there will be more.....although too much will be wasted, I guess, if everyone brings a little something, then we can manage very well, we will also need two volunteers to go get the fires started. Once that is done, we can rest assured that everything will go smoothly.
That being said, if everyone brings four cans of soda and puts it out for all, we will have enough. I was thinking, as well, about a football to pass around or a couple of ***** too. I have room for an ice chest and I will bring that and some nice plastic knives and forks along with mustard and relish and some celery salt, salt and pepper a bag of charcoal and a fire starter. Those things I'm in for. Anyone else want to bring along something?
Let us know.
Thanks to all beforehand, Rick
