Newport Ri Cruise
It's $300 (Inmotion) versus $315 (TVT). Yes, Inmotion is $15 cheaper, but TVT is more established within the forum community. TVT has been upfront with us and has indicated he cannot afford to go below the $315 price. TVT is also offering the "try it and buy it" regarding the Sprint Booster. He isn't making a dime for his efforts unless you make the purchase.
How many of us have wondered what it would be like to have a SB installed on our XFires, but haven't been willing to spend $300 to find out? I know I have. Now we are getting the opportunity to experience it without any cost. That's good PR in my book.
I like what I heard from TVT and I will go with them re the tune even though it may be $50 more if they can't get enough people to offer the $315 price. I will even volunteer to have my XFire done first and you all can watch what they do. If necessary, I will show up early at Newport Grand and get it done before the 10:00 AM start of the cruise. That way I can let you know what I think before the cookout at Colt State Park.

I'm torn. I really don't have $315 in cash right now, Just paid my state income tax, and my federal isn't back yet. I also don't know if I'm keeping the car when the lease is up this summer, but I probably will.
I also have plans for a new guitar amp this summer...
but it's real tempting to do that Chip upgrade...

Please check this thread to find more info.
So far, we have approxamately 20 cars participating in this run.
If you want to join us send a PM to me or blackxfire, or nightrider.
We will get you hooked up and tell you where we will meet.
There are two groups, at this time, folks from the north and east and those from the south and west.
Each group has a meeting point, the former is headed up by DAMSRT-6
the latter is headed up by me and will meet either at the park and lock on rt 1-A off of 138, before the Jamestown Bridge in Narragansett or Saunderstown. Used to be Heffies if anyone can recall that. 9:30 is the time of the meet there
If you want to meet for breakfast, there is a little place called D&J's on 1A
about a mile north of the park and lock.
after breakfast we will all go to the park and lock and head to Newport, I will have Bridge tokens for $1.00 each ((it's $2.00 Toll at the bridge) each way.
We will all (both groups) meet at the Newport Grand Parking lot by 10:am
Once we have all chatted, Given the itinerary and a map, we will leave the Grand Lot and head over to Belcourt Castle where will take pictures. There is no time limit and we can stay there as long as need be.
Once all is done there, we will cruise to Ocean Drive, there again to take pictures of all the cars together.
Once done there, we will head on north to the windmill in Portsmouth, take more photos and continue to Bristol, RI and Colt State Park for fresh cooked hot dogs and hamburgers, we can all chip in to xfire north who said he'll get the burgers and dogs, I hope he gets the buns. Mustard, relish and condiments. There is supposed to be people there that will "tune your ECM" for a fee.
Once again, look at the beginning of the thread to see how much and who will be doing the re-programing.
There will be no fee for the Park and we can have as much room as we want.
As you can plainly see, this is way too much information to be put on a poster.
I'm quite certain that y'all can gather the information needed for your needs.
Any questions can be directed at me via PM or on this thread, if you feel that it's a benefit to everyone.
Finally, I wish this to be a fun and safe trip for everyone.
Come, have fun, meet other members and learn new things about our cars.
Show off your ride and make new friends, people that you've only read about. Lot's of photos and great people.

o.k. guys and gals I'm off for Pa. at 5:00 a.m. in the morning. I hope you all have a great time and I wish I could have gone with you. I also wanted to get the ecu tune but that will have to wait till another get together. have a great ride.
Okay I will see you all at 10 at Newport Grand. I just installed a pool table in what used to be my trunk...makes bank shots alot more interesting and gives the passenger something to do.

I have the fire starters for the fire pitts, we have people bringing all sorts of stuff, The itinerary is pretty much as I said in the attached plan and I am certain that things will go smoothly. Remember, there are two groups coming from several directions. DAM SRT-6 will be meeting one group in Seekonk or Swansea, I will be meeting the other group either at the D&J's location for breakfast or by 9:30 at the park and lock, we will disribute the tokens there and head on over to Newport and the Grand before 10:am ,I will give the maps to all the participants when we get to the Grand. There should not be an issue if we park toward the right side upon arrival. Just look for a mess of Crossfires, that will be us.

Derek, thanks for the clarification. I will be meeting up with whomever wants to have some chow before we meet at the rt1 park and lock just off of 138, heading to Newport. The exit says Narragansett and is the first exit you come to after getting on the RT 138 strip to Jamestown and Newport. The park and lock is right across from the exit. I figure everyone should be there by 9:30 so we can all leave then. As I mentioned I have tokens for a dollar each which is a lot better than 2 buck each way. I'll be meeting up with Frank from Long Island at 8 AM at his hotel. Breakfast at D&J rest. if anyone wants to meet us there. We will be the ones in the Crossfires
See you then, Rick

I just got an email from a woman who I spoke with briefly a couple months ago. At any rate, her and her husband will be coming to the cruise to meet everyone. Her name is Marilyn. I asked that they bring something for the cookout.. We'll see what happens. They have a red 04 coupe.

The only way we will know for sure, is to count them when we meet at the Grand Lot. If there are some that are coming but not bringing anything, they will be allowed to get something to contribute before we get to the Park in Bristol. There are plenty of markets there.
I'll print up extra itineraries and maps so that everyone will have one. If you could Print up the Telephone sheets that we had for the Cape, it would be great.
This appears to be the only sticky point in all of this.
Added to the List Is Barbara H. (husband) and Marilyn B. and her hubby.
I'll go back and add them to the list AND REMOVE ANY THAT HAVE OPTED OUT. That's it for now.
Please view the addendum to my list of attendees on page 14 of this thread.
A brief synopsis is a possible 32 people at the cookout with 18 cars. This is subject to change as people contact me.
If you or anyone you know has not changed from green to red on the page 14 message board list of attendees, I would suggest vigorously, that they contact me ASAP, either by PM, phone, thread, or pony express!!! I can not stress this enough, if this thing is to work, we all must work together to make it successful.

Looking for a little input. I will be purchasing the hot dogs and rolls tomorrow. It sounds like we will have plenty of food for the rough estimate of 32 people. How many hot dogs do you think I should purchase? One 5 pound box is approximately 40-45 hot dogs. With burgers and other salads, I would think that would be enough for our group. I hate to buy a second box and another 4 dozen rolls if we will not be using them.
I will probably eat one hot dog and one hamburger with cheese if we have it. My bride will probably have the same. How many hamburgers and hot dogs would the rest of you eat considering we'll have the various other foods to accompany the burgers and dogs?
Let me know before tomorrow morning if you can, ...thanks.
Bob
