I have toured Belcourt before, and can confirm that it has really nice grounds for pictures. This will work out perfectly as Belcourt is one of the last mansions on Bellevue Avenue right at the start of Ocean Drive. I cannot stress enough how awesome it will be for our line of Crossfires to take the two mile drive along the ocean. This will take us right past Brenton Point State Park where we can stop for additional photo ops. Our itinerary could look something like this:

1) We meet with our respective groups - one from the West (138 or wherever) and one from the East (Seekonk/Swansea).

2) Once assembled, the two groups then converge at Belcourt Castle for photos and possible tour (not sure if you guys want to actually tour the mansion).

3) After Bellcourt, all 10+ cars then start the drive in one successive line down Ocean Drive heading toward Brenton Point State Park (additional photos & enjoyment of the ocean scene).

4) We dine somewhere (we still need to decide where as we may have to make some reservations).

Let me know what you think guys. Black any thoughts?

Fun, it is early enough to change the date. If you really want to join in. Send a PM to the list of members I have in the thread and see if they are willing to change the date. The closer to summer the harder it will be for the mansions to schedule us.

The Belcourt Castle is offering a LUNCH AND TOUR for around $22 per person. I spoke with them yesterday and I am awaiting their final numbers for this. As song as I get a final figures and menu from them I will present it the the forum.

Good afternoon, everyone! I have been reading all your posts for about two weeks as I constantly tried to register at the forum. I've been chomping at the bit to post some replies but I haven't been able to do so until now.

Special thanks to my new friend Phil for his patience and assistance, and also to Andrew for working with Phil to get me on this forum.

I just noticed a paragraph above that states "Your account has not been confirmed and is not yet active!", so I'll cut this short and if this post appears, I'll be back!

Yes, I do want to participate in the Newport Hookup and I'm reasonably familiar with that area. Hopefully, I'll be right back!

Well my post appeared below all of yours so I'm hoping my quest of getting properly registered here is finally over!

First a quick self-introduction: I just purchased a 2005 Yellow Crossfire Roadster Limited, 6-speed manual, all black interior, build# 51471, with only 6K on the clock. This car is mint and I feel very fortunate to find such a fine automobile. I took the car for a ten day test drive, and just fell in love with it. Even my wife, Lorna, likes it. She really didn't like the Corvette I traded in. I'm also excited to once again have a convertible in the family. I have my Massachusetts vanity tag "NORTH" on the car, hence my screen name of Xfirenorth.

Back to the subject at hand, the hookup in Newport. Yes, I would like to participate. I read some where you are planning on meeting in the Jamestown Commuter Lot which I believe is on the west side of the Newport Bridge. I further recall someone stating it would be tough for the people coming from the Cape etc, because of the $2 toll just to meet up and then come back across into Newport. Have you given any thought to meeting at Newport Grand? They have a huge parking lot and there's no charge for parking. As a matter of fact when you come across the bridge (west to east) you have two exit choices, Downtown Newport or Rte 138. You bear left to go to Rte 138 and the road ends at a stop light. If you go straight, you pull right into the Newport Grand parking lot. If you go left you are on rte 138 east towards Tiverton or you can go right and work your way into downtown Newport.

For those of you unfamiliar with Newport Grand, it's the old Jai Lai and the place is now filled with slot machines. They have a great restaurant at reasonable prices, and it's one of the only places you can park for free in that area.

No matter what you decide I will do my best to participate. Now that I'm finally on this board I can interact a little more. I'm definitely not shy as you probably already figured out.

Quick message to Crossfirefun...

Phil, Thank you again for having the patience to stick with me while I was getting so frustrated trying to get on the forum. I couldn't have done it without you!

No problem Bob. Just glad to help out a fellow crossfire owner. I sent you two pm's on the latest problem.
It looks like there are a few people that can't change the date of the hook up so I will bow out gracefully and say for you all to keep
the original date and have a good time.

Fun, thanks for helping out North. Sorry you won't be able to make the Newport cruise! Will you being going to the TAPS car show in CT that Nightrider has mentioned. They will even have models to pose with our car. Pretty wild eh?
North, it seems the most popular plan is to have 2 meeting spots for that AM. You could probably go to Seekonk easier than Jamestown. I was hoping everyone could start out in Seekonk, do our stuff in the Newport area and finish by going over the bridge to Jamestown and maybe further for dinner.
I was just informimg people of the toll and wasn't adverse to it as a starting place.
We need to work on a Cape Cod cruise. Would anyone like to do a late March Cape Cruise?

All the members that are going to attend the Newport cruise. Please PM me or chime in on this thread. I have a partial list going already.

That would put it on the same day as the Car and Bike Show that I've worked on since last August.

See Car and Bike Show for Fallen Heros all cars and bikes in both Crossfire Meets and New England. I was hoping for forum member support on that. The following (May 10-11) weekend (may 11 is Mother's Day) would help and be doable......OR the preceeding Saturday April 19 is good.

Looks as if we are set for the west side meet then at the commuter lot and then at Newport Grand? Times to be agreed upon, I think an 8:30 meet at the commuter lot would work and a meetup at Newport Grand lot at 9:15 could be doable? I will have tokens for a buck each, with me. Soon as we can agree on a time. This seems to be working out rather well.

It sounds great for the Cape thing, you can put me down tentatively. I have to check with the war department for authorization though!!!

I thought April 26 was our Newport date!
Did I miss something here? why is everyone talking about May?
I would look at late March for a Cape Cod cruise.

Saturday April 26th is the correct date for the Newport Ride.
