I know where there is a fairly new stainless steel diner in Middleboro MA. You exit rte 495 at rte 44, head east on Rte 44 for about 1/4 mile, enter the rotary, take second right (Rte 28S) and follow that for just over a mile and you will see "Dave's Diner" on the right. They are usually busy there so the food must be good. Unfortunately, that is no where near Newport.

When I use to work in the Worcester area, there were numerous diners. I don't know how many still exist. There was Uncle Will's Diner, Rte 20 Shrewsbury, which eventually was sold and moved to Montreal and reopened as the Galaxy Diner, so I was told. Chet's Diner is still on Rte 20 in Northboro because I saw it on Fox TV last week. Then there was the Shrewsbury Diner and the Edgemere Diner, but they may be gone now.

Fox TV-25 which broadcast locally in New England, has a special on Tuesdays. It's called Diner Tuesdays and there reporter "VB" broadcasts from a different diner each Tuesday. He travels all over New England doing this. It's actually quite entertaining.

Then we musn't forget the "Modern Diner" just off of Rte 95 near the Pawtucket S-curves. This old diner has been around since they invented sliced bread. It has quite a futuristic look to it. I've eaten breakfast there a couple of times and the food was good. I didn't Google it but I bet it's in there.

Now for the clincher. My friend who owns the dealership I bought my XFire from has just purchased an old diner that used to be located near Salisbury Beach on the North Shore of Massachusetts. He is moving it down to his dealership on Rte 16 in Mendon MA. I don't know if he plans to open it and serve food or just use it for display. This particular diner has the porcelain panels on it. Knowing Kevin, breakfast will be available.

Dear peter02910:

A sprint booster electronically simulates an increase in horsepower by decreasing the delay and lag time of a drive by wire throttle body, as our cars have. There is no actualy increase in horsepower.

An ECU reflashing actually optimizes the engine's performance to increase rear wheel horsepower. In our cars' case, it should increase the actual horsepower by 15-25.

I hope this helps, Erik

Hey guys,
If we wanna talk about tuning and sprint boosters to TVT or bling, let's start a separate thread and keep the Cruise threads clean for cruise planning/discussions. Your cooperation is appreciated!!

SUGGESTION: Have a coup;e people leave the pack early to fire up the grills and stop at the ice store. Everyone give him/her some $ for incidentals they can grab us a space at Colt and have the coals hot when we arrive.

PS Nice meeting you Saturday nite Blackfire,,,did u ever find your wife?

Nightrider,...You were post #1 in the proposed Newport Cruise. Would you be willing to be the coordinator for this event? The Newport Cruise will be five weeks from this coming Sunday so now may be the time to start thinking about naming a person to be in charge that can have the final say on the start time, meeting place, routes of travel, places of interest to stop at re photo ops or chow, etc.

I nominate Nightrider for that position!

I will do it but I would perfer to hand it to simajanpa, crossfire trail DAMSRT6 or a Rhode Islander. Their local knowledge is better than mine. I'll be glad to co-cordinate.

Thanks for the vote of confidence on leading the pack, but since it will be a semi-half day for me time wise, i'd rather pass on the co-ordinator duties this time around.

Peace
Paul

I would definitely suggest having a RI member take the lead on this Newport Cruise. It really isn't too difficult to get around there but local knowledge is always better.

Crossfire Trail ?
DAMSRT6 ?

Are either one of you up to this challenge? Please let me know.
If not I will be the leader, not a biggy.

I am going to touch base with The Belcourt Castle again to confirm some final details. It looks like we are not really interested in eating at the Belcourt so they may want a small fee to use their lot. Details to come.

Let's concentrate our efforts on making the Cape Cruise a success before we start going full-bore into planning the Newport Cruise. I think we will gain some needed experience on the Cape Cruise and we'll be able to discuss the Newport Cruise while being all together on the Cape.

I'll second that motion! It's not like we're renting a hall for a reception. One step at a time, and the first step is the Cape Cruise. Once we've got the Cape behind us, then we can concentrate on the Newport affair. There will be sufficient time to make adjustments if necessary.

Hey New England Xfires,
I wish to appoint "Crossfire Trail" as the Newport Cruise leader. I think he has the local knowledge and is very motivated to take the lead.
I think DAMSRT-6 is still pretty busy with the tax season and probably doesn't need the additional burden right now.
Any "nay-sayers" that need to chime in on the thread?
I only ask that we leave room in the itinerary for the stop at the Belcourt Castle. If Belcourt doesn't work out we can easily fill the void.

He has my vote too. Just to let everyone know he is a great guy. We went to car shows on Wednesdays last year in Warwick, RI.

Rick a.k.a Crossfire Trail hopefully I'll be able to work in RI this summer so I can still go!!!
