I haven't been to NEDW since the 70's. I assume you guys are racing and not going there for a car show. Back then you had the option of running for "cups or bucks". The only requirements was a drip can, drive shaft strap, and seat belts. I forgot if helmets were mandatory back then. Is it still that way?

What class do they put you in and what time do you have to run against?

wensday and friday nights are "street" night all you need to race is $20 bucks a driver licsence ,and to pass "tech" inspection which includes all lug nuts on car , batt hold down , seat belt , and for the car to not start in gear with the clutch out , If you run a 13.9 or faster you need a helmet most srt's are running 12's and the non super charged record as of so far is 14.8 (ugh)

this is freakish - ive been playing with the idea of going up there to check it out and maybe see what my baby can do.

i got my xfire in feb. and im really curious as to what she'll do. I have never dragged before and that has got me causious

You can get a snell approved helmet for well under $100 at motorcycle swap meets...just google motorcycle swap meets and a state name.

Or pack an old football helmet with several rolls of toilet paper.

 

I usually make a few trips up to NED for the Friday open nights during the summer months. My buddy and I both have SRT's so I will let you know when we head up.
