Westover Air Force Base has a great air show this weekend. I'm planning on going tomorrow - I hear they will even have an F-22 on display!

 

I worked in Springield all day friday and the Blue Angels were practicing right over my head. I can't make it but it should be one hell of a show.

 

I saw the Blue Angels at the Cleveland Air Show last week, always impressive.

It was my wife's first air show and even she was impressed.

 

Well, that didn't work out too well. We were supposed to meet my daughters at a comuter parking lot in Windsor and caravan up to the show. They were late. By the time we got on the road it was 11:30. no problem I thought - it's a half-hour to the airport and we had 4 hours of air show to watch. We got to Springfield by 11:50. As soon as we hit I-291 traffic stopped dead. It took us 4 hours to go the next 10 miles to find ourselves a half-mile from the front gates of the Air base when the closed the freakin' field!!!!

saw a couple cool planes from the highway, and a DC-3 and SuperSkymaster just flew over our house a couple minutes ago... yippeee!

Good thing I was driving my pickup - my left knee would have gone out from shifting that much.

 

That sucks. Next year come up the day before and watch them practice.
4 hours in traffic must have been a real bummer, I would have been ready to kill!!
