Default Route 4

Is there any interest in a cruise on Route 4 thru the Litchfield Hills of Connecticut onto Rte 44 into the Hudson Valley returning via Taconic Parkway? This is a very curvy mountain road with good quality surface and only 1 small city en route. Plans are for a challenging fast paced sporty ride thru beautiful and very rural roads. Columbus Day or following week end would be the best time.

I'd be interested. I've traveled that road several times. Great ride and there are great sights along the way.

Bruce,
I would be interested. Why so far off though? Can you post this suggestion of the NEX facebook page also?

I was thinking there'd be great foliage then. If any one wants to move it upto last weekend of Sept or first week of Oct its ok by me. We'll meet about 10 at exit 39 off I-84. Interested people please let me know which weekend is best by you. old Man..you are welcome to join us...as well as the Albany NY group.

Would Saturday Oct 2nd at 10:30am be an acceptable time and date? This date will allow us extra daylight and be way to early for leaf peepers. Route 4 is fairly empty road...hopefully no law enforcement reads the forum.

sounds good, but the first weekend in October is the Wild Thang 10 car show in NJ. Just my 2 cents worth

Saturday we made the cruise with a non-NEX couple (which may change soon) and a Corvette. Foliage sucked mostly past peak and blown dow by recent rains/winds. Which worked for us keeping traffic extremely lite. Weather was perfect. We average speed limit + 50% thru out most the route which was a challenge at times. Would like to try this route again in Spring with a few more cars.

Sunday I went to the final Colchester on the Green Cruise and parked on side of street. A man was mowing his lawn. His mower nailed my passenger window taking it out with a sound like an explosion, I had just put the window up finger still on the window button...I can only imagine what that rock would have done to my passenger's head.
