Default New member looking to buy a crossfire

Hello,

I am a new member to this site. I have been looking to buy a used crossfire. I live in Fort Mill SC which is very close to Charlotte NC. Does anybody out there have any suggestions for me?

Thanks

Gary

I'd suggest staying away from the Dealers, except to take a couple for a test drive to see how x-fires are. (since they're probably premium priced). Other than that, your choices depend on how and where you drive. If you have good weather most of the time, you might want a ragtop. They have more road noise top up or down, than the coupe. Manual or automatic, i've found many members seem to like the stick, and i'm one of em. So, if you want a nice sport cruiser, go for the Naturally Aspirated (NA x-fire). Now, if you want track performance and straight on fast, then go for the Supercharged Srt6. It ONLY comes in Automatic, and you will sacrifice ride for more performance. (bigger brakes, stiffer suspension) They will be several thousand $ more than the NA. Check if they need tires, when dickering on price, they can be expensive. A well taken care of Crossfire will be CLEAN, engine bay and all. It will drive SMOOTH. If there are shimmys or vibrations, i'd stay away. Good luck in your search, if you get a good specimen you will love this car!

2004 SSB 6spd Coupe. Annnd......Loving it!

Thanks for the advice. i will surely take any I can get. I have been looking at some past posts so I have an idea what troubles I should look for when buying a used xfire. I of course hope not to buy someone elses troubles as we all do when buying a used car.

Thanks again.

I'm not sure how far you are willing to travel, but I will have an SRT-6 coupe for sale here soon. It's currently located in Colorado.

Hi,
Where in Colorado? I was just there last month visiting my cousin. I also went to college in Greeley. Tell me about the car and what you are looking to get for it.

Thanks

I'm the Parker area (SE side of Denver). It's an '05 SRT-6 Coupe, Aero Blue. Mileage is slightly below 40,000. It has a Eurocharged tune and the Needswings Oil Catch Can. I know Greeley quite well. I graduated from UNC in 1993.

I too went to UNC in the late '70s early '80s. My cousin is in Aurora. Your car sounds great but I am sure I won't be able to come close to your price. I wish you luck. If you ever come across someone who is letting go of their XFire for less then 7k please send them my way. I live on a very limited budget. It's the price i pay for keeping my parents out of a nursing home.

Thaks

I have heard of phantom409, but not 411....anyway, you are in the 2004 high mileage price range. It is possible to find one....keep looking...and one will pop up...

Yea I've been using phantom411 or phantom41 since I was 41. I am now 54. I have been looking at the 04's they seem ok. I have been looking at dealers who have had them on their lots for awhile. I think i can make a deal with one of them sooner or later. I would be happy with one with between 90 and 100k.
Thanks for your time and help

Best deal out there today is this one in California. Worth the plane ticket and everyone here will be just a little jealous that you snagged it.

This is priced below an 2004 NA.

More than one member here can vouch for the owner and the car.

Guy's I have a 2005 aero blue srt-6 coupe in immaculate condition, It has about 9,000 miles on it. All stock, babied, maintained. Never modified. All rust issues prepped and fixed 100%. What price would my car fetch if I sold him?? I'm pondering selling 1 of my srt-6. I also own a black ragtop. It's just impossible to drive 2 at once. =) Thanks Jay

Thanks for the info. I am wondering if I should remove the fact that I want to buy a XFire. I am a disabled single father who has also had the responsibility of caring for my elderly incapacitated parents. While a few years back buying a new car would have not been an issue, today it is. I have spent every penny I had saved up over the years to keep my parents from having to go into a nursing home. I not only spent my life savings caring for them I now live on just $700 a month and that is for myself and my son. My son who is now 17 just totaled the only thing left that I owned, my 2001 Monte Carlo SS. It was a great car, and I kept it in pristine condition. Unfortunately accidents happen. Thank God my son was not hurt. Anyway I don't mean to burden you with my troubles but I felt I needed to explain why I would pass up such a deal. I received only $6500 for my car and that is all I can spend. So I am thinking that so many people on this site are so very willing to help and let me know about great deals and I feel bad everytime I have to say no I can't afford it. If you ever come accross something in my price range please send me a message.

Thank you once again.
