Default Car stalling

ok so I just got off phone with Chrysler were my cross fires at. They changed the water pump (1200.00) later and its not stalling out anymore. I asked if it could be a bad cps. Said yes but no codes or stalling. Is it possible that the water pump made it stall?????

NO, but overheating could. CPS can be intermittent.

$1200? A new water pump from Autopartswarehouse is $94 so $1100 in labor. There is a reason that they are called stealerships. I'm not trying to make you feel bad, just trying to point out the reason no one goes to a Chrysler dealer.

Contact your state attorney general's consumer protection office.

I also suggest that IF you have some crappy daily driver rustbucket, you paint it with "ACME Chrysler ripped me off for $1200 for a water pump" and drive that car as much as possible around town.

At last Falls' Dragon meet, one guy of our group replaced a water pump in one lady's Crossfire in the Lodge parking lot. They bought the pump at a store in Murphy, NC for around $135 and had it changed in under three hours. At $90 per hour, that's $405 total, max.

If your Crossfire needs work, go find some local, honest, independant shop that is known for Mercedes experience and get THEM to do the work.
Or bring it to a Dragon meet and we'll do it for beer.

We don't know what other work the dealership added to the bill. I cringed when I read about the $1,200 amount earlier yesterday. I checked and the Chrysler list price for the water pump is $834 which would explain how "easy" it was for them to get the bill that high. The Mercedes list price for the same water pump is $454.

Just for the record, I think Sweetlips can kiss his $1,200 goodbye.

This is the intro and welcome forum, so belatedly I say hello to him/her.
