Youngest Crossfire Owner?
Hi All!
My name is Vinny, and I am obviously a crossfire owner! I have been a member on here for just over a year, but believe it or not this is actually my first post! I purchased my crossfire just under two years ago, when I had just turned 18. It is a 2006 base, and I bought it with 10,700 miles from an individual in Connecticut. I am located in Upstate New York, and have stored it the past two winters. I typically put it away in October, and take it out in late April. So sadly, I have it on the road about 5 to 6 months out of the year. Somehow, I have managed to put 13,000 miles on it and I am up to 23,000. It's sad to see it go up, but I love driving it.
Lately, I have become more interested in modifying it. Some things I am interested in doing are:
Touchscreen radio(backup camera too) - I love the 2 din retro fit mods I have seen but I'm not ready to strip it down that much yet... Maybe in the winter. As for now, I am looking for a single din touch screen. The issues I always run into are low quality user interfaces. If anybody has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.
Speakers - Being the base model, I only have the door speakers and tweeters. I would love to add subs to it. Nothing crazy, but something very good sounding. I haven't looked yet, but i think I can feel the cut outs where the subs are on the limited and SRT6 models. Does anybody know it the wires are ran back there, or if I can wire them into the existing system? Obviously, I would need it to be compatible with the radio I pick.
Cold Air Intake - This is something I have recently become interested in. The biggest benefit I am looking for out of it is a tiny boost in my exhaust sound. I saw the NeedsWings setup(gorgeous) and I am currently exploring other options too. Again any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Engine Tubing - I recently saw a picture where someone had replaced all the tubing with nice red tubes, and it looked gorgeous, in my opinion. If anyone knows where to get a kit or whatnot of any sort, please let me know!
Also interested in Chin Spoilers, and other small body modifications that stick out. Again, any suggestions would be great.
Well if you have made it this far in my post, thanks for sticking around and reading! I guess after about two years I've gotten to the point where I want to customize my crossfire to reflect myself, and not just leave it completely bare bones stock. I'm excited and looking forward to become an actual active member.
Thanks again for reading!

Welcome Vinny!!
There's a girl named Kate here in Orange County, CA who's got you beat on the age thing - she's 16 and on her second Crossfire (first one got rear ended and totaled a few months ago).

I'm pretty sure Kate is 17 already, if not 18, but she is on her second one after wrecking the first. We have a young man in FL who's had an SRT-6 coupe since he was 16 also.
Welcome Vinny, and congrats on the Crossfire. Good Luck with your mods. Don't hesitate making the car your own. The only person you have to please is yourself.
Welcome, and it sounds like you have OCD for sure. Obsessive Crossfire Disorder. I bet when you park it you look back at it several times..... yea, we all do that.
On the serious side, have you investigated some of the common issues? Relay Control module re-solder, sticky ignition fix, crank position sensor? Those might be some "mods" to start with.
Welcome, Vinny, to the Forum. Lots of info from experienced XFire Owners. Most likely, anything you come across has been already dealt with by one of us. Just look around and/or ask. We're here to help.
