Hello Everyone
I finally found my new toy. I have admired the Crossfire for quite a long time and have visited the Forum often for cars on sale, information, and news. After a search of over a year, I finally found the one, A 2006 Limited Roadster, Black with two tone Gray interior, with 17,250 miles. Went to New Jersey, checked it, drove it and bought it from the second owner at a reasonable price. EVERYONE says it looks Brand NEW and it does. I am retired in Connecticut and am very happy. Looking forward to driving it in Summer, on Sundays only, cleaning it and looking at it. It is FUN to drive. During my search, I was originally looking for an 05, Gray w/ two tone gray interior in MINT condition. VERY HARD to find, to my specs. It's amazing how little dealers know about them and the condition, pricing, etc and even the right color name !! In my search I found some real bandits out there but was willing to travel the US to get the right one. I found one in Detroit Michigan, but they would not tell me much about it because they were going to send it to Mecum Auctions. It went in October and didn't sell. They are asking $18, 500 for a 45,000 mile car that it is not mint. Oh well. I am very happy with MINE. I plan on keeping it and giving it to my kids. It will only go up in value. 'If anyone needs any info on buying one, give me a shout.
Welcome to the forum, glad you found what you were looking for !
Please tell me WHEN they will start going UP in value. ( not that it matters to me, I'm not selling )
I've had mine since Jan 2011 and the values have done nothing but go down ...

Sounds like you found a great example. These cars are so much fun to drive, it's hard to believe there are any low mileage Crossfire's still available.
When these cars do start to appreciate in value, it's going to be the Black roadsters commanding the most money.

The Black roadsters with the SuperCharger! If you don't have the Supercharger don't expect your car to ever be a valuable car in dollars. Although all of us know our cars are valuable to us. Just my opinion.
Enjoy the ride
Welcome to THE forum. Sounds like your find is a great one! And from your commentary, I'd say you & most of us have similar requirements when it comes to looking for a choice XFire.
Later,
Later,
Oh come on Stan, can you name even one car that hasn't appreciated in value in your lifetime, no matter how utilitarian it was?
Sports Cars appreciate in value even quicker, some quicker than others, and some appreciate at higher percentage rates. For instance, 427 AC Cobra's bring higher prices than their 289 siblings. 427 Vettes usually bring more than those with a small block, and so forth and so on.
It goes without saying an SRT will always bring more money than a Limited or Base car. But Supercharged or not, Black Roadsters command top money at most any collector car auction you go to.
It will probably take another 20 years or so to see any real increase in value, but that depends on so many different variables it's next to impossible predict.
