So. Cal. 2005 Roadster Ltd. Convertible Newbie!
I’m am excited owner of a Crossfire here in Long Beach, CA. I have always wanted a Crossfire convertible and decided I’m not getting any younger so just do it! Amazingly the car has been owned by another “Long Beacher” for the past 10 years, so the legacy continues! My car has a few miles on it (125,000) but handles great and looks like it’s new!
I’m now having fun detailing my “baby” making her shine and all my friends envious!!
This forum has been a wealth of information to me and I thank all of the members who have contributed their knowledge and experiences to the forum!
I have several questions for other Southern California members:
Resources for local Crossfire mechanics?
Where I can purchase additional keys without having to sell a kidney (local Chrysler dealer charges $639 for replacement key AND $85 for programming). I only have one key (but I do have 2 kidneys)!!
Lastly, is there a group of local members that meet socially to share experiences or just get together for fun!
I’m having a blast learning, driving and having late-life fun!!!!

I suggest you get to know Needswings.com. They should be your #1 go-to for Crossfire parts. You'll still pay $659 for a programmed OEM new key from them, but the kidney extraction is a little less painful from a company that has been a great resource for us. I'm a doubter when it comes to the possibility that Crossfire keys will ever come down in price, so I personally would pony up for a spare now while they're still even available.
I purchased 2 keys from Needswings.com. I also suggest you get to know Needswings.com. The cost of the keys was much much less and they tell you how to program the keys or this forum tells you how to program the keys. Call them for the current costs. I paid $315 for 2 of them!!

The entire new car dealer community is criminal. The "Programming" can be done yourself in 25 seconds.
If you think that your local new car dealer is fair and honest, you are just too damn gullible to know that they arent. When they are not ripping YOU off, they are exploiting their service department employees for obscene profit.
If you still don't get my drift, read my sigline.

If you haven't gone to this link, please do and save it for future needs. It is your best local mechanic.
