Default Spoiler issue solved

I am new to the forum having bought my 2006 Crossfire Convertible 2 weeks ago. With help from detail on the forum but mainly superb guidance from THETESTER (Mark) I resolved a spoiler problem within one week of it coming to light and I hope the below account helps someone.
THE PROBLEM
The spoiler came on at circa 20 MPH & 500 yards into my journey and would not go down even using the manual button. When stationary and with the ignition on and engine off, I could lower the spoiler although it continued to try and raise and would do if I took my finger off the button
So... I kept finger on button, lowered it and switched off the ignition and that kept it down.
On switching the ignition back on and starting the car, it stayed down until I drove and again at circa 500 yards and 20 MPH it came up.
I had the battery checked and it was perfect.
I read all I could on the forum and with the help of Mark found some incredible information and downloads
MY SOLUTION
I used WD40 liberally on the joints and linkages whilst the spoiler was raised and left this overnight -I surrounded the area with cloths so as not to over spray. paintwork etc.

However, I don't know if that was the solution as I also took the cover off the underside of the boot lid to expose the motor and wiring. I checked for any loose connections and possibly moved the attached image connection which looked to be loose.
I hope you recognise it - a small black connector with a single metal curved 'spring' or similar.

Anyway, the spoiler works perfectly now- up at 60 and back down when I reduce speed.

Cheers

Ray Jeffrey
