Greetings to all you crossfire owners out there. I picked up an '04 coupe this week, with 6400 miles on it. It's been in storage for 15 years. New oil, filter, tires, alignment, a few bulbs as well as a fuse....and voila, a practically brand new Crossfire! I LOVE this rig! 6 speed manual is fun and there's plenty at the gas pedal. I only have two issues left to tackle. 1. The spoiler works appropriately in every way, it just won't fully stow. Stays up about 1/2" from fully showing. No malfunctions, just doesn't close flush. 2. The rig sat for a looooong time, and the gas gauge is stuck at 3/4. I accelerated "rapidly" this morning, and the gas gauge dropped to empty and the fuel warning light came on, then back to it's home at 3/4 tank, lol. Any suggestions on either issue would be greatly appreciated. I am picking up an obd2 reader this week as well. Thanks in advance.
You might want to remove the inner panel on the hatch lid to check the spoiler gears and mechanics to see if they need lubrication also do all the hinge points . You may have something blocking the spoiler from fully closing . It's an easy procedure.
Congratulations on the low mileage Crossfire find. I found my 06 last year with 4,700 miles on it and was extremely happy about the find.
I also had to fix a few items. One you may run into at some point is a bad Crank Position Sensor. The engine would repeatedly die under higher exceleration when it hit about 3,000 RPM. The multiple fault codes were very misleading and unrelated to the CPS. I decided to replace the CPS which fixed the problem. Interesting the one I took off the engine was not a Bosch original sensor. Someone had put in an aftermarket sensor. I strongly recommend you buy a CPS as a spare. Many forum members do the same.
I agree with the very good suggestions above from ala_xfire and dcskmail.
Wow, thanks for the timely responses! I wondered about the limit switches and something (even dirt) being in the way of the spoiler. Lubing is a great idea, especially since it sat so long. I'll give it a try today. Something rattles in the lift gate when I go over bumps, so a good inspection of the hatch is in order. Gas gauge can wait a bit. Just keeping it full for now. I'll update when I figure something out. Alignment today after the new tires. I had issues with dome lights and locking, but the number 9 fuse (red 10 amp) under hood was the culprit. Almost tackled it all. What a FUN car to drive!

Wow whats the story behind that ??
Welcome and I hope as you wake her up she doesn't give you to many issues
These cars like any don't do well being stored for long periods of time and 15 years is nearly unheard of
Either way you have a piece of history there and almost like new !!
Indeed. Not sure what the story behind the rig is. I was just in the right place and time. I hope it doesn't develop issues as well. Only one way to find out. Next issue to tackle...a real cup holder. Lol.🤔
So, I raised the spoiler, cleaned and lived all the hinging mechanisms. Pulled off the inside cover...lots of corrosion. Cleaned up what I could and lived gears as well. No change. Two of the swing arms to retract (the two forward curved ones under the spoiler) have marks on them like they're rubbing. When spoiler is retracted manually, I hear the audible beep that says it's back in auto mode. It just won't go down the last half inch. Time to get the limit switches checked out I guess.
