As an AMG enthusiast I originally set out about a year ago to purchase an SLK32. I really wanted the drivetrain, but was never wild over the looks. After seeing an Slk 320 in person I was really not wild over the looks, imo just looked dated & not so much like a performance roadster. After seeing the 320 I decided to look for an SLK55 & after looking for months I found a really nice p030 optioned car in black. I came very close to pulling the trigger on it but then flipped back to wanting an SLK32 due to the drivetrain figuring I’ll just get over the looks. I then found a really nice mars red slk32 but again couldn’t warm up to the looks, after that I took a pause from SLK’s for a short while.

One night as I was looking at videos of SLK32’s I saw a documentary on the SRT6. I watched all 15 minutes of it and by the end knew that I found my answer. I loved the way it looked, the build quality seemed to be great, cool history with limited production, & it had the drivetrain that I really wanted.

I started looking for a grey or black coupe, but wound up purchasing a SSB roadster from Chicago with 33k miles. I purchased it sight unseen & was very happy when it came & I got to actually see it in person. It wasn’t until I actually drove it though that I really fell in love with the platform. I like them so much that I wound up selling another AMG that I had and purchasing forum member ***** P’s SSB coupe. I’m really looking forward to learning more about the platform, modifying, & enjoying them both. I already learned a lot and saved a headache on the stereo install by reading several write ups on this forum.

I live in the suburbs of Chicago....Just curious where you bought your SRT Roadster ?
Was it a dealer or private party sale and may I ask, was it in Chicago or one of the suburbs near Chicago ??
