IRL at Watkins Glen

Anyone headed to the Glen this weekend for the IRL RACE?

No, i can't make it...but wanted to go. Did you know that they open up the Glen to the public to take a few laps in your car every now and then???? Might be something to look into!!!!

I have done that a few times.. I use to race a mini back in the 70's.. The laps at the Glen are "controlled"... depending on who is leading the pack (track personnel) will determine the "speed".. I have done it where we were doing 90-100 on the straights.. and I have done it where we were doing 60 on the straights... It costs $25 for three laps.. our Mini club whent down with about 20+ minis and they only charged us $20 per car.. It's fun but not the real thing.. gives you a good idea of what the off camber turns are like and how close the guard rail is to trackside..I have not had a chance to do it in the Xfi.... but I WILL. I started going to the Glen around 1965. It never gets old...
