I'll start contacting CICCI people in maryland. I think i can count on 5 to 10 classic Mopars to be at the show, an old mustang and maybe a chevy HHR pickup. how were we able to get a large group of people to come to the GTG in March?

Keep in mind that if a large group of classic mopars show up at our show, we need to return the favor and show up in force at their show in Ridgley MD in the fall.

Sounds good.

While we had a good showing in March, and not bad for the breakfast in June, most of the attendees have been off the radar since then. We need to send emails since most don't seem to visit the forum regularly. A call to action for COM members. Recommit, confirm attendance and support and get registrations. That's the least that they can do to help out.

As far as us returning the favor to other clubs, that's a great thing to to and we should try to do what we can ........but keep in mind we are a very small club so returning the favor may mean only a few cars from our club show up. Heck, 50% of the club would only be 4-5 cars. Other clubs that have dozens or more members makes it easier, on a percentage basis to increase attendance.

its not a club, just a group of people that all own classic and modern Mopars. and honestly just a couple of us going to their show is enough to say thanks for coming to our show.

I'll get messages out to maryland CICCI people and see what happens.

yeah you can bring them. I'll bring everything i have so we can get things together. I'm still waiting on items from Rockauto, Jegs, and maybe Adams. if those items show up after this weekend, I'll finish off the bags.

I am just getting ready to mail out 60 fliers to performance/speed/and custom shops (bikes, trucks and tuners included) in the region...I'm sure there are more but I searched Superpages for current shops and addresses....I figure we are close enough now to make them pay attention and not let it get lost on the back burner....I hope a lot of those fliers we have passed out since May will still be laying around getting attention

I am betting we will have quite a few register on the location once they figure out if it's a nice enough day to drag them out...that could be the part of the delay. And this is the first one so no one knows what to expect....

Great David. Let's hope we get some out of your efforts. I also hope you are right about on-site registration......

Thanks for the extra efforts.

Paul, can we get the music closer to the food, cars, etc.? I think it would better stimulate a festive atmosphere. Can we have the registration set up and show field entrance closer together (i.e. they register and move right into position)? The map looks like the participants register up top (left) and then enter the show field bottom (right). Also, if possible, can we have a printed copy of the layout ready/copied for an insert in the goodie bags?

The music set up can be moved but I have to see if we have electrical hook-up access by the food area. I think you'll be able to hear if from either location. I know we access to electrical where the current set up is placed.

The registration is at the "gate" (actual gate area), and that is the entrance to the show field where visitors will be coming in and registrants will have to go to as well if it's placef there. The show car entrance is intended ONLY to be an entrance to bring the cars into the show area after registration. If you want to move the registration down to the other area we can, but it's not as nice (no trees, no foot traffic, etc. because it's at the back end of the winery. My thinking on this: If they are pre-registered, they can just drive around and we can direct them to their respective row and then to pick up their bags etc at the registration desk (NOTE: There are also some trees for shade in current location). I figured if they haven't we can either have them park briefly in the visitors area and register and then drive around OR direct them to park in the show area in their respective row and the go over and get registered. (It's a brief walk half way one direction or the other). Also, there is a fence that pretty much surrounds the show area, so visitors will be entering through the gate, and for access from the winery it'd be nice to have things set up there (IMO). Also, if we move it, it won't give the visitors or registrants a feeling of an entry way (basically, nothing will be located there) and unless you intend to stop the cars and have them register before they drive in at the other location, then the result of moving it doesn't serve much value or purpose because they'd be parking and walking to the registration desk no mater where it is. Anyway, that's my input.

Let me know your thoughts, but after visiting the site and meeting with the winery staff, these would still be my suggestions. If things change l have to update the map and print it if we want it in the goody bags.

Anyone know forum name az2md? He lives in Ellicot City. I found him on another thread. Invited him to join COM and at least come to the August Show. I'll see what I hear back.

I've always said it seems to have more HP and torque than what's stated in the book anyway.

As far as quickness, it's too early to tell. I did drive my car just prior to the tune (so I could have some recent memory recall to compare post tune to). It may feel slightly quicker -- but I think most of the gain seems to be on the top end, not on the lower end of the rpms. I read somewhere on here that another member had a similar experience upon first drive but once the car "learned" responsiveness and quickness was much more noticable. So for now, a few good things. Smoothness and no "set backs". Also, I can now officially post I'm "Eurocharged" and post HP numbers at 239hp and 253 ft lb of torque.

I'll post people on my next longer term impressions on this after a couple days of driving.

Good experience with Eurocharge as well. Tune we smoothly (as long as you prep in advance) and took only about 15 minutes from start to finish.
Update: Second Drive Impressions. So, seems the new tune has also awakened some of the inner beast in the low end of the RPM range now as well. Responsiveness seems to have increased throughout the range and the car definitely feels quicker! So, I'm very happy with the results of the tune.

Hey guys,
I ordered the t-shirts today for the club people who said they wanted one. I had to pay higher shipping to get them in here before the show, so they end up coming to $15 each. They will be white with our club logo on the left chest pocket area.

This set me back a bit $$ so I would ask everyone to pony up the $15 for them at the show if you still want one.... if not I will sell them to the first guys with cash in hand ... I got a couple extras in case some people want one that were not at the meeting yesterday.

Thanks David. If you want, I'm happy to send the check to you in advance. PM or email me your address and I can cut the check this week. If not, you know I'll be there and I can give it to you on the 11th.

Thanks for doing that.

Paul

no problem on the money for now Paul - thanks...pay at the show will be fine.

On another note, those of us who want to go to the Dragon this fall Oct 5-7 should know that I just called and wanted to book my room at the special rate and they are saying they are already overbooked at the special $79.00/night CICCI rate.
Was anyone else besides Fink planning on going from our local group?
I definitely want to go this year. I sent a message to Gary and let him know about the rates just in case he can do anything to expand our block. If not, the lodge rates are $129.00 for Friday and Saturday and $109.00 for Sunday....was hoping to save a few bucks with our rate so I am hoping they can change that but I'm not holding my breath.

Thanks David.

I was just contemplating going to the Dragon the other day. Unfortunately, it's looking unlikely. My son's Fall break fall around there so I'm not sure I'll be able to. I'm going to double check the schedule and see if I can work it out, but I won't know until later this week likely. I was just down in the Smokies a few weeks back although I have to say my Town and Country van dosen't handle on the twisties quite as good as the XFire.
