Jason Edit your 1st post on page so we have all the shows on 1st page of thread in date order of show.
should make shows easier to track and find.

Hunt Valley Cars and Coffee. Saturday April 30th. Rain or Shine.
118 Shawan Road, Cockeysville, Maryland 21030
8am-10am

free event, show off your car, get free coffee.

those of you that went to the Dark Side SRT BBQ, this is in the same area.

there is a park and ride outside of the mall on Shawnan Road, slightly past the mall's entrance. we will meet there. We will leave that part and ride at 730am, to get group parking for the event. This will give us 30 minutes to wipe down the cars and chat before the event. the weather for this saturday is calling for mid 50s and sunny. Friday looks like it will be nice so we should be able to get the cars clean. I'll be leaving the rest stop on I-95N at 6:45am if anyone is interested in joinging me. We need to be at the event prior to 8am so we can all park together.

Wow, still don't have the car back?

Dave, I have a double header softball game on Saturday so I'm not going to make it this weekend.
Enjoy.

they are trying to screw me. Not Fred though, that guy is super cool. I told them to put the car back togethr and i'll do the IC pump myself. The service person called me with a long list of items that needed to be replaced and keep the car for 10 more days, Fred gave me a much shorter list of parts. I ordered the pump from needswings, $147 shipped. Deal with Fred, pay him for his time, order the parts yourself, but i have to say im not a fan of Tate.

That sucks. I thought you had a warrantee? Was it through them? If so, you could just authorized the pump and be done with it.

Dealers now days are all about creating a long list of issues both for regular service items and then things you "really should do" other than maintenance. I've learned over the years to first verify the issues, determine if they need to be done right away or can wait, determine what I can / can't do myself and the go from there. I'm sure those of us that know at least the basics about cars are better off than most but it's still a pain when a dealer tries to pressure you (by applying some level of concern) to get things done. My dealers (not for the Crossfire) have been pretty good so far. They give me a list but are generally pretty honest about the urgency or not for getting things done. I'll do most simple things and sometimes tackle the more complex tasks when I can but reality is time, tools and knowlege is a limiting factor so just knowing what's real first and then level of importance is my primary savior.

Good luck with everything.

The warrantee covers $85 an hour labor, Tate charges $110, i pay the differance. Fred recommended the water pump since it was there, he said its got maybe 6k-9k miles left on it. Labor and deductable on that would have been $600 and the car would be down for a week waiting on parts. the service office came up with additional lines and parts, not covered by warrantee, that Fred told me today he never mentioned or included on the work order. He gave me a few things to help with the IC pump, and told me to call him if i run into trouble. I ordered the IC pump from NeedsWings......Bosch part same as Mercedes, just without their logo, and it was $147 shipped. The dealer was going to charge the warrantee $1800 for the IC pump, $1300 for the water pump and $1300 to me for random hoses and parts that were not needed. Parts can be found through AutoAnything, NeedsWings, Summit Racing, RockAuto,AutoHausAZ, WeRMopar and other places at fractions of the cost. With the knowledge we have here, CICCI and Fred, i doubt the car will go to the shop again.

thanks dude, but i think its a one person job. take the wheel off....the wheel well liner and there it is. about enough room for one person. Fred seemed unsure of me doing the work, until i told him about the Fury sitting in the driveway hahahaha. I'll get the water pump soon, that job will be all day. ive got to remove the radiator and fan to get to it......blaaaaaaaah. hahahaha I was looking forward to that show. Might drive the Plymouth, just depends on when that pump gets here. Needswings isnt that far away.

Are they serious. Did they really say that at the shop? Geez, I thought our water pumps were pretty easy to get too........................ Kind of needing to lift the car to get to our oil filters.........

hahaha exactly! Well the shop manual just says to take the fan out. after i do that ill see how much room i have. if i need more room ill just pull the radiator. i looked i think its 8 bolts and a few hoses and out it comes. id rather spend extra time and pull the radiator then smash it if a wrench slips.

im still laughing about the "all the parts have to come from Germany" line, because the USPS just send me an email saying that my IC pump just left Warren, Michigan.........Warren Michigan must be close to Berlin.......small town i guess.

we can figure out a meeting place closer to the date of the show, but it looks like there is a goodwill right next to the Pep-boys, might just meet there and drive across the parking lot.

it was a rather easy job. not worth $1800 and a ten day wait. I'll look at the map and figure out a meet up area for Moparpalloza. Im thinking the rest stop on I-95 south close to Rt32. and ill find something closer to the actual show to meet up incase people dont want to drive east, to go to a show in the west hahaha.
