Look at the Maryland map and follow I-270 NW from the beltway...it's @ halfway between Clarksburg and Frederick. The Parking Area is on the right side of 270 and can be seen from the highway.
We can meet there or somewhere @ here and run together. Let me know.

Whatever is easiest for you. If you want to go HWY 4 to the beltway, I will meet you at the WAWA on 235 and 4. Just give me a time.

Is there a way to get a count of how many are confirmed going and how many are from the NJ area?

So far I'm seeing:

Gunner, ascharger, Redcross and RonH

I'm seriously considering going and what would make it a definite is if there's a group from here that can cruise out together.

It's a $35 registration for the show field which includes admission for two for the weekend.

Where are you guys planning to spend the night or are you just driving up and down?

I've not been to the shows are Carlisle and I don't know what the format is, do all show cars have to be on the field by a particular time in the morning? Because that would probably preclude driving up the day of the event.

I'm seriously considering it at this point but trying to figure out the logistics.

I cannot speak for everyone but Gunner and I will be driving up Saturday ONLY and returning the same day (anyway I know I am). It is a three day Show so everyone has different "Saturation Levels".
You can see from the entries where we will be meeting, etc...

You will be classed/parked with other Crossfires in your particular category.

Good luck finding a room in Carlisle at this late date. You might find something in Harrisburg.

The gates open around 7:00 am. The problem is that traffic through town on Saturday morning is just awful after 8:15-8:30. Typical mid-July temperatures in Carlisle should be in the 90's. Fortunately, you'll be sitting in a comfortable modern car with adequate cooling and A/C that doesn't overheat sitting in bumper-to-bumper stop-and-go traffic. Not so for the guy in front of you in the muscle car era Charger with a 440 V-8. I recommend that you arrive in Carlisle by 8:00 Saturday if at all possible. I'll also post some directions in this thread before next weekend that will take you over some back roads to avoid the parade through downtown Carlisle.

The deadline for pre-registration on-line has passed; if you're not registered by now you'll have to do so at the gate ($45, which includes a three-day admission for two). You can come as late as you like; they'll take your money all day Saturday. Show vehicles enter at Gate 3.

OK, looks like a 3-4 hr drive from where I am without breaking any laws too seriously

I'd love to just go up for the day as well, so that might work out just fine. Aschrager, what time were you planning to leave? 3-4am?

It's slightly closer to me, I'm in West Orange, so I was planning to take local roads to I-78 the then head straight out on 78 to 81.

I'm still sorting out the logistics but once I confirm, I'll PM you the information and we'll figure out a place to meet, probably along I-78 somewhere. Maybe at the scenic overlook near the PA border.

As I promised, the link below (from our Va-Md Viper Club website) has directions for avoiding the traffic in Carlisle.

Gunner, I think that 0500 will be pushing it in case of ANY traffic problem since it is 100 miles from here.
I think that we should change that to 0415!
I would rather have the extra time, just in case.

Anyone else to join us???

Looks like I'm confirmed to go.

Current weather pegs it at 20% for a thunderstorm on Saturday and rain on Friday, so hopefully things won't be muddy.

Anybody going on Friday that can give an advance party SitRep?

Oh, I'm also assuming that it won't be a problem to register at the gate?

Not a problem registering at the gate. I assume you'll come in on the PA Turnpike from the East. Check out the link to the directions I posted and follow the ones from the Turnpike entrance to avoid the traffic.
