Unhappy Re: Chrysler Nationals

Still haven't booked a room yet, but did get my event confirmation today.
Andrew PM me or let me know which hotel you make a reservation at and I'll try for the same Hotel. I usually stay at Embassy Suites, my sister-in-law works for them in Tampa and she can get me their Friends & Family rate for about $50.00 a day, a really good deal. But no Embassy Suites in the Carlisle / Hershey area. But, then after my stop in Atlantic City I might have to sleep in a tent.

Try the Holiday Inn. Its less than 10 minutes away and they still have rooms. I'm staying there. Look the "Dark Knight's" XF.

Good spot... I bought one from this man about a month ago.
But the special Crossfire version I am having made should be ready this weekend.
Al is having a XFI banner done also.
We should have the tent identified WITHOUT any confusion!!!

some info from hemmings:

Muscle Cars

Carlisle All-Chrysler Nationals

It’s not too early to start planning your summer car show must-attends. One of those events is the Carlisle All-Chrysler Nationals from July 7 to July 9.
Featured this year are a school of ’Cudas including a 1971 with a Hemi as well as a Six- Pack-equipped car. There will be a showdown of old versus new with a side-by-side display of factory-correct restorations versus resto-mods. Special guests include Mopar fanatic Bill “The Automaniac” Goldberg, Tom Hoover, who worked on the ball-stud Hemi engine and will be reunited with his original Barracuda, and legendary drag racer Dick Landy, the cigar-chomping racer of the ’60s and early ’70s, who will be signing autographs. DaimlerChrysler also will have a display of the latest concept vehicles.
Goldberg promised to “burn some tires” at South Mountain Dragway with his 700 hp resto-modded Hemi Dodge Dart, which was on display at SEMA 2005.
Hoover is called the godfather of the Chrysler Hemi and also was involved in designing the next generation 426 Hemi. He built the famous ball-stud Hemi engine that disappeared for more than 20 years. John Arruzza discovered the engine and rebuilt it. He also bought Hoover’s 1969 440 Barracuda and installed the ball-stud engine in the car, and Hoover will be reunited with the car.
The final and, until now, “missing” 1971 Hemi ’Cuda convertible has been found and will be on display for the first time in the Special Invitational Display. This beauty is owned by Mopar collector Bill Wiemann. Wiemann and another noted collector, Tim Wellborn, will have some of the finest Mopars in the world on display.

To update my info, I will definitely be at the show, but I will definitely be working. We have worked this show since 1992 or 93 I think, before I worked there. www.totallyautoinc.com
I am hoping to drive my crossfire and not a work truck...lol
I also judge the SME cars on saturday but, I will find time to come by the tent as I would like to meet some of the people I talk to here regularly.
See you then.

Question Re: Chrysler Nationals

I am new to this and have never been to the Chrysler Nationals show. Could you help me out by answering a few questions? Is it okay to register for the show even if you have no changes from stock to your Crossfire? Once registered do all the Crossfires park in the same general area? Finally, (I am an auditor and always ask a lot of questions) is there any problem with registering and only showing up for one day?

~ a stock crossfire is always welcome at any car show.

~ we are all planning to park in show field together... next to the tent redcross is setting up.

~ one day of attendance is fine... personally i will only be attending on saturday.

Best bet is to pre register, this show is huge and fills up fast!!!
It is worth entering just to get a good parking space.
Stock if fine, it is a fun field type judging, participants vote on cars in other classes. EX."you may get a ballet to pick your favorite pt cruiser" It is about fun not winning.
There are judged classes for serious competitors like the SME class.
That is for ridiculously over restored, or highly modified cars.

Cool Re: Chrysler Nationals

Here is some information that I would like for everyone to absorb...

All car shows have some mega-buck cars on display that can only be there because of endless fund backings...
All car shows have cars that are loved and cherished by their owners and are as they are...stock or different degrees of modifications to them...
All car shows have categories for each...
It's always better to be a participant than a spectator...
Having said that...My point is ALWAYS register your car and display it!!!
Don't worry about any competition...do it for the FUN!!!
The actual judging is done by other folks that have entered in the show...
FOLKS JUST LIKE YOU AND ME!!! (or I, whichever is correct)
ALSO, your cooler is in the trunk...and you are thirsty...BUT, why is your trunk parked in the spectator lot a mile away when for a couple of dollars more it could be "Where the Action Is" ???!!!
You have something special...Show it off!!!
