Dodge Nitro, your thoughts
My wife and I watched Speed Channels "test drive" of the new Nitro. Now she's into the whole SUV thing and I've grown to appreciate them over the past 5 years of having them (02' Trailblazer LS and 04' Ranier CXL) but couldn't really see myself in one...until now! This thing just looks badass, even customized lookin', kinda like the 300C IMO. The way the front fenders bow out, the condensed headlight/grill look and the low profile windows just makes it really standout in the crowd! I priced out an R/T and its $29.4K and thats w/o out DCX discount thats available to us. She really likes it and with the new blue they have for it, well, she's been lookin' for something in that color for some time now, so its only a matter of time for us. At first she wanted the SLT because she thought the contrast of chrome grill/headlight surrounds was cool, but when they showed the R/T on the show in that Inferno Red w/ the faux aluminum slats in the grill, she knew I was right. So, what do you guys think about it?
I've liked the Nitro since seeing the show car version. Having had a Liberty Limited, I can speak for the platform in a positive perspective. It should ride better with the longer wheelbase. The rear seat in the Liberty was over the rear axle. The Nitro looks the part and should be a great truck. The commercials are clever as well.

Kinda looks like a cross between an H3 and a Jeep Cherokee. I like it.
I was out driving this summer and a Jeep SRT pulled up next to me. I haven't seen it since but it looked a bit like the Nitro. It was definitely a Jeep but sat lower than a traditional Cherokee. It had the SRT logo and a single, centered exhaust. Wonder what that was?

The Nitro is cool...the new "my gig" system that you can get in it is great too, with nav, built in hard drive, dvd player and much more.
Just wait until you see it with the 20" wheels that are going to be available real soon on the R/T.
There is such a thing as the Jeep GC SRT-8, with different front and rear bumpers, 20" wheels, lowered suspension, 6.1L Hemi, centered duel exhaust, SRT interior/seats and much more...its been out for a while now.

I'm not too familiar with the specs on the Nitro, but it looks better than an H3 from the side, they just need to fix the grill and bumper, now if DC could make a hardcore Nitro 4x4 like the Wrangler for $25k I'll buy one.
