I ran across many links such as that when debating what to buy. I will post them once I run across them. Here is one that the Xfire is on, although not as 'official' as Hagerty's.

that's a bunch of crap.
you cant tell everyone what the next '57 chevy' is going to be. actually the '57 chevy was a mistake! it just happened to turn out that way.
short story: the '57 chevy was SUPPOSED to be the '58 design, but the '58 wasn't ready, so they basically rebodied a '56 and shoved it out the door for the '57 model year, and decided to wait till the next year to unveil their new design (quad headlights, new engines, etc.).
i think only time will tell what the next classics will be -- but if haggerty or barret jackson wants to help BMW sell Minis (like they need help) go ahead.

I really don't care if the Crossfire is going to be or not...by the time mine is I will be long gone anyway...just going to enjoy it now and not worry about its value 25 to 30 years from now.
Ii tend to hold onto cars. See my sig. I've owned the 78' TA since 81'. The 77' and 78's are hot right now. Best design front end and the Smokey and the Bandit style T/A, but that's for another board. The XF SRT-6 roadster is a keeper. I'm really surprised at the Hagerty list, still.
At least put the Prowler on it.

The Panoz Roadster needs to be on there as well. I've only seen 1 of them in person and that was at a race track. I've seen Prowlers and Vipers all over the place and the Panoz can be had for about the price of the Prowler.
A visual for those who forgot.

Good one. The Panoz roadster is definitely going to be collectable. Hand built in the USA, Mustang Cobra engine, ultra light weight - sounds like a winner to me.
Hi... I'm new here... but not new to car collecting, valuation, or similar automotive endeavors*. There is really only one reliable place to scope out emerging classics... Hemmings Motors News... EVERYTHING else is 2nd and guessing!
Now... I DO believe the Crossfire will attain a certain amount of collector status based on its overall rarity (kinda like the Buick Reatta... or the Caddy made by Pininfarina ... can't remember its name off hand).
For true and real collector status, the Crossfire will have to withstand the withers and ravages of time... if this group stays devoted... and fix tips (like the door rust issue) are brought up and shared... the CF may just get to become a true collectors car...
Btw... I'm hoping to learn more about the CF... considering finding one locally (Portland Oregon)... any other OBVIOUS boo boo s anyone has caught???
* - some of the classics I've owned; '66 GT350H, '67 GT500, '69 TVR Vixen, '64, '68, and '70 Volvo 1800, 1969 Alfa GTV 1750... current car... 1987 Toyota Corolla GTS coupe (emerging classic @ Hemmings motor news Feb 2005).

As with alot of other General Motors "Specialty" vehicles, they got it right by the last year of production. (Which was the only year the North Star V8 was available, and coincidently, the highest selling year).
Total production was 21430, vs 21751 for its "Sister car" the Reatta. (Which was only in production 4 years).

The chassis of the Allanté was made in Detroit, then was loaded onto specially equipped Boeing 747s and shipped to Italy where the body (which was designed by Pininfarina of Ferrari fame) was mounted to the chassis. Afterwards, the cars were loaded back on the jetliners and shipped back to the Detroit/Hamtramck Assembly plant in Michigan for completion. This led to a few interesting nicknames, such as "The Flying Italian Cadillac" and "the world's longest assembly line."

) Hilton sisters, Paris and Nikki.(If you believe the tabloids) One was created in France, and the other, right here in the good old U.S. of A., and still "sisters".
