It's a sectioned 1955 Studebaker with the fenders off a 30's Ford! I always thought one of those would make a bad a** street rod!
Here's a '53.....not as swoopy but you get the effect.

That's almost unbelievable. I never would have guessed that car to be a reworked Studebaker. My Brother had a 53 back in 1960, and I used to think that car was so cool looking. Way ahead of its time in styling, in 1953 nothing but a Corvette could hold a candle to it in the "looks" department.
Apkano, you really stumped the panel on that one.

Actually I'm quite impressed with myself...........I figured I'd get a few guesses and then you'd come on and say what it was and elaborate everyone (myself included) a little more about it!
To be truthful.....a '57 or '58 golden hawk would be much more like our cars.....swoopy design.....dead sexy....and could be had from the factory with or without a supercharger!
I liked this one, the checkers were hand painted, the front frame tie bar was a camshaft and the speed equipment was what was available in the 50s.
The only giveaway was the big disc brakes on the front wheels.

This could be the most extreme rat rod I've seen:

Now that is wild ... got to admire the ingenuity.
nice post, much more refreshing than some others I have been reading lately.
