Anyone have about $100K lying around, I could really use it. I wish I could just see the car, the seller is only about an hour from where I live.

A couple of years ago someone brought an authentic Skyline to the drag strip at California Speedway. Everyone was oohing and aahing over it and speculating on what sort of time it would turn in. The moment finally came for it to make a blast down the track and I was standing at the finishing timing lights as it trapped.
The track was shut down and all racing halted for a good hour as they cleared the mess at the end of the track.
I don't recall the ET, but the car was doing 138 mph and still pulling when it broke the beams. At which point it continued to accelerate. Turns out the driver had no clue where the finish line was and just kept on running until he came to the sudden realization of "ahhh crap...I'm outta road!!" and stuffed the car into and beyond the sandtrap and the end of the shutdown area. I don't know just how far down the track he was when it dawned on him that perhaps he should apply force to a different pedal, or how fast he was going at the time, but the car was pretty well FUBAR when all was said and done. The driver was essentially OK though, thanks to a 5 point harness and full roll cage.
Money>sense
