Until two months ago (when I first drove two XF Coupes and a Roadster in one day) I was not at all a "Car Guy"... and am still a very new "Car Guy" - but I can't watch that .

Simply can't.

We are all crazy car guys, everyone said how hard it was to watch. Really I felt the same way.

Funny how passionate we are about cars and automobilia! It seemed as if that car had its heart ripped out. I was actually feelign for it! Am I loosing my mind! LOL!

 

Pretty disgusting. The old girl gave up quite a fight though - it usually doesn't take that long to kill a clunker.

While we're at it, let's take CARS to the logical next step. I was thinking that the pet breeding industry probably needs some stimulus as well. After all, not as many people have the discretionary income to add a fur-covered addition to their household. How about a new, smaller breed to replace your large, environmentally unfriendly dookie-dumping Dane. Just leave Apollo at the pet store and get a $200 credit towards a Shih-tzu puppy.

Calling their money giveaway a huge sucess the administration is shutting down the program before it becomes a Phenominaly Huge success.

I wonder how long the program would have stayed alive were it a failure.

Giving away money is so hard to do.

Typical government, my 98 Avenger is NOT a clunker, but my 06 SRT6 is !

 

One of my dealers here had a 'vette traded in as a clunker. They valued the vehicle at $6K, showed the customer the $3500 clunker value & pocketed the other $2500 in profit. I say good for them!

 

Wait, I haven't followed the cash for clunkers thing very much, but is that what they do when they get one, just kill it completely? And what is the crap they pour in there?

 

I have to tell you. That was painful. I have owned 3 different C4s in the past. I still love Corvettes even though I love my Crossfire! I just couldn't watch it all the way to the end. The owner probably couldn't find anyone to buy it, given that most people nowadays don't have that much spare change hanging around anymore. Who knows. Stan
