40th. Anniversary!!
On a bitter cold Monday afternoon on Jan.19th. 1970, I picked up my first new car, and I still have it parked in my garage.
I sure do wish I could be around for another 40 to enjoy my Crossfire.
By the way, I had nothing to do with it being declared a "National Holiday".....that was the "Fed's" decission.

Pretty cool my friend! I wish I still had my 70 &1/2 Z-28. Saw one on Barrett Jackson a while back just like it with the Rally Sport package, mine was a full front bumper and small spoiler in the rear (non RS) and it went for $63000! Mine was $3100 new. Congrats on having the patience to keep your first car!

By the way, your Mach I's "twin" (with a 428 SCJ) went for $51k today at Barrett Jackson, and Sunday is traditionally a "Low" bid day. I wonder what it would have brought on "Super Saturday" when all the High Rollers" show up.
+fireamx,
Wow, the Hornet was my car with a rear end. My stripes were also gold! My second car was also a Hornet (snot green - you probably recall the color with a matching plaid/vinyl interior that if you threw up in it no one would ever know). My sister bought a Hornet wagon. I still reminisce over the Gremlin and would really like to find another some day.
Based on our early purchases and the history of the Crossfire it is understandable why we have gravitated towards the Crossfire. We were just early birds who have been waiting for a reemergence of great design work. For others on the board, "if I have to explain it you wouldn't understand" (wink, wink).

Congrats Mike!
One of these days, after the weather clears, I want to come over and check out all of the cool things in your garage - AMXs, Crossfires, Vipers, oh my!
