Kleemann SLK32 AMG versus E92 M3...
The results may... surprise you.
Not the flogging everyone expects.

So what is in a "400 hp" Kleemann SLK32 AMG? The M3 is 414hp but 400 extra pounsd? So which way was the flogging supposed to be? Motor Trend has the M3 stock trapping about 111.
Also, how long was the race, and when did they let off? It looks like maybe just after the M3 passed, or was it at a different time?

FYI. bhp is horsepower measured at the crank, and whp is horsepower measured at the wheel. There is roughly a 20% loss on our drivetrains to go from bhp to whp. 400bhp = 333whp.
Definitely fun to watch the video though.
Zahanma is spot-on.
Many members here are putting down close to 350 RWHP with the Needswings parts and a tune...
That number would be WELL above the ~400 BHP which is what the SLK is the video is claiming to have.
I think it's interesting that the SLK gets a healthy jump on the M3 and keeps that distance until well north of 130mph. In other words, many SRT-6s on this forum would walk the new M3. The video tells the story; torque is your buddy. Honestly I think the SLK in the vid fell off due to IATs...
Note that the SLK in the video also has the Kleemann differential... I know that's a point of interest for many owners on here.

Thats a pretty interesting video. I raced a buddy with the new M3 in my SRT6 and had the same result. We went from 40mph and I jumped a car or two on him and held that lead until 120-130. He started to real me in and by 150, he had caught me. We let out of it and chuckled. Now I raced friends with modded ( basic tune / air boxes) C63s and 09 CTSV and they walked me from the start. I hung with the C63 by a car, but that caddy put a bus length on me with little effort.
Oh and....

Do you think my original suspicion has something to do with it? (IATs)
In other words, the longer you stay in the top of the RPM range, the hotter the IATs and therefore the decrease in acceleration? Our overall gearing in these cars is very low... So I can't see the ratios playing with the outcome much.
**EDIT**
2,000th post FTW!!!!

When 240M3SRT had his 185 pulley, he would jump me off the start, but I could real him in as the boost hit 22-24lbs in his and IATs grew.
I raced a blue one (no traffic of course) from 70 MPH to 160 MPH and kept him on my left rear quarter panel the entire run. I inititated so I got the jump on him - but I never pulled away from him and he never pulled up even with me.
Then again I consistantly make 360 - 365 RWHP (without NW components)
and have zero IAT issues...
Don't know if he was modded or not but he gave me the thumbs up...
