I finally got my dream car.
A couple of years ago while attending a rat rod show at an old drive in movie theater in K.C. A friend and myself came across this car. We talked to the owner for 45 mines about it. What can I say, I was smitten with it. Flash forward a few years when I could actually afford one, my friend asked me if I thought about the little gold coupe we saw. I told him I didn't even remember the guys name and would probably never see it again. Two day later it showed up on Ebay. I took that as an omen and bought it. Please understand, I don't have the time to build a car like this. I drive a truck for a living. Let alone the fact that I was able to buy it much cheaper built, than by building it myself.
I don't believe my car is famous. Though it has been touched by some big names. And I'm not bragging. I just personally think it's cool that my car has had their touch added to it.
Pat Patton was the owner/builder. Several of his cars have been in magazines. Pete Chapouris built the chassis, so in my eye, it has been touched by a Street Rod God. Scratch helped mix the gold color used, and pinstriped the entire car. Victor Zuniga at Zuniga Auto Upholstery stitched up the interior. I am completely blown away that I own this little beast, and it's heritage.
This car is featured this spring on Goodguys t shirts and their metal "garage art" signs. Goodguys took photo's of it from a meet in Texas. They had someone design a shirt and metal sign based on it. And called it the Copper Coupe. Heck, the car isn't even copper colored!!! The cars previous owner contacted Goodguys and requested a free t shirt and sign for using his car to sell their merchandise. They refused to even do that much. Bad form Goodguys, go screw.

Rush, thanks for posting the photos, because as soon as I read "Rat Rod" I almost bailed out of the thread.
The car looks very "Bad Asp" and "period correct". There was a time when I would have jumped on that car myself. Hope you enjoy the the heck out of it.
For the record, I don't consider that a "rat rod".

We are currently on a mini vacation in Eureka Springs Arkansas. Thumbs up, hollering, and downright stares everywhere it goes. This old girl gets as much attention as the entire town gets!!!
What a blast.

I'm thinking of uncorking the pipes. That should get their attention even better. No cherry on top though, please.
