The Crossfire was designed by Eric Stoddard this design was then modified by an Englishman named Andrew Dyson to use existing components and for manufacturing considerations. So there is a link to the UK from day one.
Like the Bentleys leather the Corinthian leather in the Crossfire never got near a barbed wire fence.
