Default 2005 Cadillac XLR - "Ruby" a companion to "Blue"

Picked up this unique ride which dovetails well in similar interests enjoyed by my 2005 Crossfire SRT-6 "Blue" - but different in a lot of ways too. 2005 Cadillac XLR.

While you would think both cars should be very similar, in their ride, handling/power curve, etc., they are actually vastly different. While the XLR is not much bigger or heavier than the Crossfire, it feels like a big convertible from the 1950's and certainly has that solid/silent Cadillac ride and certainly as quick due to similar torque ratings, even if less horsepower than the SRT-6.

Named this one "Ruby" for obvious reasons. I need to get a shot of them together in one photo, side by side.

When you think about it, 2005 was a really good year for cars - maybe one of the best years for cars in the last 20 years.

Cadillac XLR & the XLR-V were quite a big leap for GM's Cadillac division in the 2004-2009 model years. XLR's were assembled in the Corvette plant in Bowling Green, Kentucky, but had Northstar V-8 motors; XLR NA (4.6L) and XLR-V Supercharged (4.4L). Hardtop convertibles, which always peaked my interest. More of a luxury cruiser. Congrats on your recent purchase of the Cadillac XLR.

Still remember the very 1st time I saw/sat-in one at the Amelia Island Concours. Seemed like a show-car come to life. It was and still is totally unique.
There's a really great website & forum for the XLR as well. https://www.xlr-net.com/
