The May lease deals on Z4s, particularly the 3.0i and the 3.5is are truly amazing.

Incentivized money factors and absurdly high residuals, combined with a lot of inventory on dealers lots, make this the Ultimate Leasing Machine right now.

The 10K/yr, 24 month residual on the 3.0i and 3.5i is 80%.

On the 3.5is it is 82%.

Find a dealer willing to cut its selling price to invoice + a reasonable markup, put down multiple security deposits (which you'll get back if you take good care of your car) and you can get into a 3.5is for far less than 1% of sticker per month with little other money down. (Excluding lease unfriendly tax states.)

I've missed having a sports car since I sold my SRT-6 a few years ago, and this Saturday I'm flying to the Midwest from CT to pick up and drive home a 3.5is on an insanely cheap 24 month lease deal.

If anyone has been thinking about a Z4, you can rent one for two years super cheap this month.

Yes, it is bad form to reply to your own reply, but here goes. (Cribbed from my post on bimmerfest. This is too good of a deal not to share with folks who might want a 2 year lease on a super car at an insanely low payment rate.)

I sold my SRT-6 two years ago and I've missed having a two seater ever since.
___

Thanks to the great tip off by Kief (a bimmerfest forum user), I knew now was the time to lease myself a new playmate for the next couple of years.

My deal was absolutely insane. I found an Atacama yellow 35is for sale on ebay.

The buy it now price combined with the 10K, 24 month lease with multiple security deposit moneyfactor credit plus the BMW Loyalty lease money factor credit led to a payment (incl. CT 6% tax) of just $362.27/month with nothing but the security deposit(s) and first months payment out of pocket.

My car has the all the major option groups, and it is a funky, beautiful, striking yellow color, offered as part of Citrus package. (I hope it isn't a lemon).

Throw in $440 for a plane ticket, a couple hundred bucks in gas, buying my in-laws breakfast after I stayed a night with them to break up my drive back to CT, an awesome road trip and one trashed rear 30 profile tire and I was home from over a 1,000 miles away in about 46 hours from when I left for the airport.

Alone for the trip, and intent on covering a lot of miles in less than 2 days, so I didn't take many pictures. These two are my favorites.

And, FWIW, you can get almost 29 mpg out of a 35is is you don't drive too fast (even varying engine speeds for break in) if you do 95+% highway driving.

Yes.

It has power very similar to an SRT-6, but it does weigh several hundred pounds more.
