V12 twin turbo in a tiny SLK - check it out!
That's right, 750hp, 900 lb-ft of torque in the Crossfire's cousin. Now who's going to fit one in a Crossfire????
Josh, Rudy, are you reading this?????

Easy. You got the money?
Since my goal is the 600 motor in the 55 I've been researching the hell out of the swap concerns of mine and they'll fit, and some of the routing for certain things is a ton easier... Exhaust being the biggest since you don't have to make or create manifolds, you just buy some tube, get it bent, and weld it in place lol. The intercoolers are integrated so you don't even have to worry about mounts, brackets, extreme plumbing or anything... The size scares me a bit, but you can easily push the radiator forward another inch and you're good. Honestly if the suckers werent so damn heavy I would just go that route in the crossie, but the 55K motor will leave me some decent balance. The ECU work? C'mon guys, it shouldn't even be a question at this point lol.
I will point out however that the mentioned SLK ECU work was cake... The E-V12tt ECU work will be done for my car in 30 minutes. I actually wrote out why but then realized that I might need to leave the market open lol. For the Crossfire, it'd be more difficult since we're on the older electronics but definitely no where near as hard as the NA V8 manual ECU retrofit and reconstruction.

Jim you have little to no room in your engine bay as it is. Even with moving the firewall back where are you going to put 4 more cylinders?
Wouldn't even need to move the firewall. There's a driveshaft I have in mind that'll let the trans sit further back, bringing the motor back. Then the radiator forward an inch with a 1" wide electric fan. Done. You gotta remember the bore is tiny, even in the 65... If that's not enough, you can relocate the radiator support and move the radiator, ac condenser and all that, even farther forward...

don't know right now, but if it can be done, I would like to do it,, we do have some mods to do to mine next year, that could make it faster,, my request is i want it streetable and reliable,, just so you know we are building another supercharged crossfire, eng is in and runs, just going slow for now,,and yes Rudy is involved in the project. jim
already moved the radiator forward 3"and down 3",, don't forget our streets are from 110 to 130 degrees almost every day

Re: V12 twin turbo in a tiny SLK - check it out!
You moved the radiator THAT far and you still have cooling issues??? You could fit the stock fan back on with it that far back LMAO. That's cool that he built another one. I know I can't wait to have mine done. It seems like wayyy too much after driving the E55 but it'll be fun as hell. The TTV12 is too much for the crossfire IMHO but if someone crazy enough wants to do it I'm sure Rudy will get it done, if he needs help then I'm sure he'll call lol. We've kicked the idea over briefly a couple times but nothing in depth yet, just that we both know we could do it.
