Re: thoughts of the upcoming bmw Z4 coupe?
The Z4 coupe looks better than I expected. I've been ambivalent about the Z4. Some days, I think it looks great; others, I think it looks too choppy in the rear and angular all around. I like the interior in that it seems fairly comfortable for this type of car; on the other hand, I've seen cracked plastic, so I'm not sure how durable or solid the interior materials are.
When the Z3 appeared, I thought it looked great. It's lines were classic. The interior is not as nice, though, and I don't see many around today that look well kept or inviting.
All in all, if offered a freebie Z4, I'd take it. For the money, though, I'd have to think long and hard.

i really like the z4 coupe. i especially love the z4 m. the only thing i don't like about the new m coupe is that it doesn't have the bulging fender wells of the z3 m. i loved that wide aggressive stance. it really made the difference between the crappy one and the m. the new m's don't look that different unless you know what to look for.

I'm wondering if Honda will take note of this release and make a coupe version of the s2000...that could be a fantastic little car.

I sort of liked them too, but then I used to like the Volvo 1800 ES also.
The new Z4 coupe looks pretty good imo, make mine an "M" edition, and
park it next to the Cayman in my "dream car garage".
I'll still be driving my XF, so there should be room for both.

I had my first view of one on the road yesterday at Dallas' White Rock Lake. From some angles it looks like an old Mazda MX-3.
I'd take a used Z3 coupe and keep the twenty five thousand dollars in savings. It'd pay for a clutch and brake job (almost).

THANK YOU ANDREW! Finally I can see the M coupe with the M3 competition package wheels. I don't know if I like the look of these wheels on this car though. I went to go check-out the M coupe myself. The one I sat in was white with imola red interior. I like the interior alot. I sat inside, and the car made me feel like it was screaming DRIVE ME, and drive me FAST! The small-diameter, but thick steering wheel is really attractive to me. The clutch is much firmer than in the Crossfire, and the 6-speed seems to require a very, very firm hand in order to move through the cogs. You also sit alot lower in the car than you do in the Crossfire. The rearview vision is worse than in the Crossfire too. In the Crossfire you can see much more vertically than in the Z4 M coupe. I hear the tires on the new Z4 M coupe aren't that good either. I want one either way. My biggest problem with this car is that the S54 engine does not have the low-rpm torque delivery that makes the Crossfire so fun to drive. Past 4,000 rpm this engine gets fun though. If I can afford it within a year or two, I plan on swapping the Dinan 3.90 rear axle for more torque delivery at lower rpm's.
